Set within a challenging sloped terrain, this weekend home explores the possibilities of designing with the land rather than against it. The architecture unfolds in layers, responding to the site’s natural contours while framing expansive views of the highway beyond.

Spanning 1,500 sq. ft., the residence features generous decks and a private swimming pool—crafted to create a seamless connection between indoor comfort and outdoor living. Every element is carefully balanced to achieve both efficiency and elegance, resulting in a design that is cost-conscious without compromising on experience.

Weekend home, Nellipoyil Calicut - Model Explorations!

This physical model is developed as a design exploration tool—not just a final representation, but a thinking process made visible. At the firm, model-making begins alongside early concept sketches, allowing ideas of form, orientation, and landscape to evolve simultaneously. Here, the built form is tested against real-world forces: sunlight paths, prevailing winds, rainwater flow, noise buffers, and access. Each layer of the terrain is carefully contoured to understand how the building sits within the land rather than on it.
