Studio Mohenjodaro

Studio Mohenjodaro Architecture, Interior & Furniture Design Studio Studio Mohenjodaro is a multi-disciplinary design firm that was established in the year 2014.

Spearheaded by Tarunpreet Singh Bhatia, the practice deals with a variety of projects, regardless of the scale or the kind of style and detailing required. Designing of interior spaces is given as much attention as the planning of larger, architectural assignments. The ideological approach to each design, at the core, is to keep it practical and relatable. The studio believes that spatial quality

should not isolate the soul, rather it should comfort and nurture it, providing a sense of belonging and ownership to its occupant. In other words, the designs are contextual and fulfill the requirements of the clients. The design, more often than not, unravels itself after deliberately ironing out the complex layers of the built form. The corollary is a simple and understated yet comprehensively elegant design fabric that wraps the aesthetic.

Designed to harmonize productivity and recovery, this bedroom brings together warm timber, soft blues and muted neutrals in a way that feels easy and familiar.

A small workspace sits naturally within the room, giving it a sense of purpose beyond rest. The wooden desk, open shelving and comfortable chair create a corner for reading, working or simply sitting down for a while.

The gentle palette keeps the room calm, while the timber details bring warmth and character to the space.

Designed for a quieter rhythm, this bedroom brings together the warmth of natural timber, muted neutrals and soft green accents. Gentle daylight filters through the layered curtains, keeping the room bright and restful through the day.

A small mandir within the room gives it a more personal rhythm. The details are kept warm and understated, making the space feel less like a designed bedroom and more like a room that naturally belongs to the grand mother.

The subtle combinations of oak and off-white in the Master Bedroom are offset by soft hues of pink and lavender that underline the palette. Generous light filters in through the linen sheer thereby making the space a calming retreat for the senses after a long day.

From the dining table, the eye naturally travels towards the living room beyond. The timber frame becomes more than just an opening; it subtly connects the two spaces, creating a home that unfolds gradually rather than all at once.

The grain of oak, the depth of a shadow line, the softness of rounded corners, the way patterned flooring quietly anchors the dining space each detail plays its part.

Every material, colour and detail has been chosen to support that sense of continuity, allowing the spaces to feel distinct yet deeply connected.

An arch doesn’t simply connect one space to another it softens the journey between them.

In this home, the arches quietly become part of the everyday experience, guiding movement while allowing each space to retain its own identity.

Designing a space is one thing, but seeing it lived in is the best part. In this quiet living corner, warm terracotta, olive green, and natural timber come together under soft, filtered light.

Patterned fabrics and rich textures bring color and character, while a wooden ceiling band beautifully ties the room together.

Above all, this grounding space is intentionally shaped for the comfort of everyday life.

Some materials bring character to a space without asking for too much attention.

Cane is one of them.

Its natural texture adds warmth, while its lightness allows it to sit quietly within a space. Used across larger surfaces or in smaller details, it brings softness without making the design feel heavy.

A closer look at how we worked with cane in one of our projects.

Some materials quietly become part of a building’s identity.

Brick is one of them.

We continue to use it not because it’s traditional, but because it brings together durability, texture, and warmth in a way that feels just as relevant today. As natural light moves across its surface, it changes throughout the day, giving the architecture a character that’s difficult to replicate.

These are a few observations from one of our projects where brick became an integral part of the design.

What material would you like us to explore next?
