And if all of this wasn’t already overwhelming enough, the real cherry on the cake was this
walking into my first architectural project with my parents by my side.
Showing them each space, each corner, explaining why things sit where they do and how the spatial story came together was a bundle of nerves. Because even though they’re your parents, you still want them to get it. You still want that quiet nod of approval. That look that says okay, she’s really doing this.
And of course they did what parents do best. Loved it before even stepping inside.

My mother was beaming at the floral decorations outside the house (something I had absolutely nothing to do with) 😂

First reactions are always special that way. Raw, honest, unfiltered.

Yesterday, was just all hearts!

As a kid, I was always stacking little blocks, trying to make the tallest tower without it toppling over. Never imagined that one day, those tiny games would turn into real walls, real volumes, and a home that’s fully alive and breathing.
This one is totally a full pinch-me moment.

To my clients, who believed in me so fiercely that my name now sits on a 9 foot flex board at the entrance of their home; thank you. Truly. This house we proudly call Marudham, inspired by the agricultural landscapes of ancient Tamilakam, holds more love and trust than concrete.

Walking into the housewarming of this home is a moment I know I’ll carry forever. Every speck, every joint, every form here wasn’t just designed; it was thought over, questioned, tweaked, broken down, and rebuilt in theory and some times on-site too! We spent a year understanding the land itself; testing groundwater, studying soil, experimenting with unconventional construction methods, and obsessing over indicators that guided how much a wall should breathe or not. Volumes were shaped to move heat up and out, letting the house cool itself, naturally.

This home taught me patience, humility, and wonder all over again.

We’ll be opening these doors to you very soon.

Hang with us. Trust the process.
And for all those that made it till the end of this very long caption - thank you for being part of this story!

Project: Kazé
Design Narrative by Azare Collective

At 18 floors above the city, where the wind moves before the noise, our clients, a young couple starting their life together purchased their very first home. It wasn’t just about designing a space. It was about anchoring a dream.

They came to us with a word: Kazé - Japanese for wind. And in that word lay the entire brief. They wanted their home to feel like air; light, seamless, always moving, and full of breath. A place that would carry them gently into the next chapter of life, including the arrival of their first baby girl!

Kaze became our guiding principle not just metaphorically, but architecturally. Every design decision flowed from it.

Let’s talk wardrobes! Fabric sandwich glass softens the visual weight (and is a little forgiving on real-life clutter), while the inside is planned down to the last shirt, sari, and “I’ll wear this again” outfit. Shoe drawers sit right where they should; at the base because good design doesn’t ask you to hunt or compromise your mornings.

Every handle, proportion, and line here exists for a reason: ease, flow, and a sense of calm you don’t have to think about. We design quietly intentional spaces that make everyday life smoother. If you want a home that works with you, not around you, you’ll feel right at home with us.

This master bedroom is all about temperature control, visually.

Cool greys slow the space down, warmer woods and fabrics bring it back to comfort. The trick was keeping both in the same value range so they complement instead of clash.
Nothing here is loud, everything is layered.
That’s how calm is built.

Would you believe this sphere base is two hemispheres of solid wood stitched together and then hand-painted to look like one piece?

We chased the perfect wood grain so many times, our painter probably started seeing textures in his dreams 😂
But we’re the ‘one more layer, please’ kind of people… and thankfully, he’s always up for exploration.

In the end, we were relieved, the painters were proud and we saw happy clients. That’s all we could ask for!

This corner will always be special to us.
What started as a simple functional tv and work nook became a small celebration of geometry. Tiny triangles on the wallpaper, trapezoids as legs for the desk that feels sculpted are forms that quietly play with each other proving that even the smallest corner can carry the biggest personality.

Ever notice how one tiny table lamp can change the entire mood of a room? Swipe to see that warm pool of light anchors this corner and turns ‘just a bedroom’ into a cosy little scene.
