Sharing stories of everyday lived experiences can be a great way to connect and reflect with our community, especially given this temporary physical distance that New Yorkers and people across the globe are experiencing. Share with us a 150-175 word snippet (with images if it is relevant)/ comic strip/sketches of a memory/place/event that brought you closer to your city/neighborhood.

Send a story pitch to Dhanya Rajagopal at [email protected] and be featured on our upcoming blog series

Architect and Urban Designer Horeb Moses presents his post graduate thesis titled 'Dustopia'.

The thesis explores the conundrum of dust pollution in London, utilizing the ideology of Big Data architecture to map and quantify the nature of particulate matter on site. Using this information, a working prototype was created that, when applied over a particular dust prone area, attracts dust particles towards itself, thus creating a pollution free zone while making a vivid political statement on the issue of dust.

This was achieved through several material tests and simulations of prototype and site models, using both digital and physical methods.

The relationship between the railway station and the city has always been characterized by episodes of physical, social and functional conflicts, in a large part caused by the lack of integration between infrastructure and Urban policies.
