The English Camp @ Small Talk offers a rich learning environment for children where they can develop their English language skills.

This year’s camp will focus on kid’s grammar, conversational English, and creative writing. Quiz games, extempore, group discussions, and role-plays will make the sessions interactive and lively. The English Camp is a wonderful way to get your children to develop his/her English language skills whilst enjoying themselves.

The Junior’s Camp is for 7 to 11 year olds and the Senior’s Camp is for 12 to 15 year olds. The duration of the camp is two weeks, and starts on 15th April 2013. Small Talk, along with Le Royal Meridien, Chennai, is organising a one-day workshop titled "Fine Dining- Demystified" on Saturday, 4th August 2012. This is meant specially for working professionals or other individuals who find themselves dining out quite often either in a professional or social setting; who travel a lot either for work or pleasure.

The workshop will focus on demystifying the cutlery on the dinner table and to accustom you to their correct usage; situation-specific vocabulary enrichment exercises; making appropriate and interesting small talk at the table; and understanding the finer nuances of dining with grace and hosting dinners with élan. The workshop will include a four-course meal to provide hands-on learning experience. Guest speakers and experts from the hospitality industry will interact with the participants.

"Can I have your good name please"
"What is your good name?"

All of us have been asked this question atleast once, and many of us have asked this of others! Shockingly, many think this is absolutely correct too!

Here's the truth: there are no "good names" and "bad names"! There are only names...
Many people use the phrase "good name" to show respect or sound polite...but the best and only way to show politeness or respect using the English language is by saying:
"May I know your name please?" or
"Can I please know your name?"
So STOP saying "good name"now! ;-)
