We first designed this house for Mr. Verma 15 years ago, it was a beautiful home, full of life and character. Coming back to it and redesigning it again has been a deeply emotional experience. It’s never easy to see something you once created change or disappear; there’s a certain attachment that stays. But at the same time, watching it take on a new life, with a fresh design, makes it all worthwhile. The transformation carries forward its story, just in a new form.

At the heart of a spiritual retreat, this temple unfolds as a quiet journey inward. Anchored on a strong east–west axis, the plan brings together twin sanctums in a balanced, harmonious composition. A central courtyard with a water feature becomes the heart, offering pause, reflection, and calm. As devotees move through gradually rising levels, each step becomes part of a gentle, processional ascent toward the sacred. Rooted in geometry yet softened by landscape, the architecture blends stillness with movement, creating a space where ritual, nature, and introspection come together in a deeply grounded and contemplative experience.
