We are a small second generation generation architecture practice founded wayback in 1974 by Architect Meharban Singh back when India was a very different place and the discipline was rather new to the country. In the present time and age we often find ourselves grappling with murky spatial matters such as maximising space in a 280 sft. Dental clinic or trying to rescue buildings from u
rban/rural anonymity or building an RCC home which coexists with old growth trees and 20+ Species of birds. And yes we thoroughly enjoy the rigour of architecture and the struggle that it entails. Manifesto
We strongly believe architecture as a discipline needs to critically engage with current realities of culture, materiality and ecology. Our small second generation architecture, urban design & interior design practice tries to subtly work within this domain. Some examples of manifestations of this current reality for us are rediscovering the humble vernacular earth adobe or building a off grid eco cabin with a cutting edge agrarian zerowaste upcycled product. We are currently helmed (just about barely!) by Ameet Singh, who apart from the ubiquitous Bachelors in Architecture also holds a Masters Degree with Disctinction in Music & Architecure (UCA, UK) (why on earth you would say!). Our team varies from a Craftsmen/Mason to a PMC firm depending on the nature of the project. We collaborate often and make interactive new media art too when freed from the rather constricting confines of the tangible.
