01. யானை 🐘 22 மாதங்கள் கருவை சுமக்கும் !.
02. யானை 🐘 4 வருடங்களுக்கு ஒரு முறைதான் குட்டி போடும்.!
03. அதன் தும்பிக்கையால் 350 கிலோ எடையை தூக்க முடியும்.
04. சில நேரங்களில் இரண்டு குட்டிகள் கூட போடும்.
05. ஒரு யானை ஒரு காட்டையே உருவாக்கும்.
06. ஒரு நாளைக்கு 200 - 250 கிலோ உணவு சாப்பிடும் .
07. ஒரு நாளைக்கு 100 - 150 லிட்டர் தண்ணீர் குடிக்கும்.
08. 50% மேலான உட்கொள்ளப்படும் உணவுகள் ஜிரணம் ஆகாமல் வருவதால் உணவில் 10% அதிகமான விதைகள் இருக்கும். சாணத்தில் இருந்து 10 கிலோ விதைகள் காட்டில் விதைக்கப்படும்.
09. யானை 🐘 ஒரு நாளைக்கு 300 - 500 விதைகள் விதைக்கும்.
10. யானை 🐘 ஒரு நாளில் 100 மரங்களை நடுகிறது. ஒரு வருடத்திற்கு 36500 மரங்கள் நடுகிறது.
11. ஒரு யானை 🐘 தன் வாழ்நாளில் 18 லட்சத்து 25 அயிரம் மரம் வளர காரணமாகிறது.
12. சமச்சீரான உணவு வேண்டுமெனில் ஒரு யானை 250 வகையான மரம் செடி கொடிகளை உட்கொள்ள வேண்டும்.

காடுகளை அழியாமல் பாதுகாக்க இறைவனால் படைக்கப்பட்ட உயிரினங்களில் முதன்மையானது யானை என்பதில் சிறிதும் ஐயமில்லை. அடுத்த முறை நீங்களும்,நானும் யானையை பார்க்கும் பொழுது நம் மனதில் தோன்றக் கூடிய ஒரே காட்சி, நாம் பார்க்கும் இந்த காடுகள் மற்றும் இயற்கை வளம் இந்த ஜீவனால் உருவானது என்பதே!.

Today World Environment Day celebrated at Genepool Eco Park, Nadugani. "Only One Earth" is the campaign slogan, with the focus on “Living Sustainably in Harmony with Nature”. Gudalur Forest dept together with local people planted flowering trees at Genepool Eco Park to attract insects and bees population in this area.

The Genepool Eco Park, Nadugani conserved many more than 1500+ tree species, most of them are rare and in brink of extinction was established during the year 1989. We can see a lot of plant animal interaction since the park has wide collection of indigenous and endemic tree diversity. Hence we can rightly call it as Live Park. Many lesser animal species like amphibians, Insects, reptiles and birds silently got disapper from this earth due to human impact. So inorder to create awareness, recently our painting about snakes was displayed to public. Together we can protect everything.

We confident that the inputs given by us will enrich your children knowledge and bring humanity to ensure protection of all plant and animal life forms surrounding us.

For more information feel free to contact us at 88254 75002. Every week on saturday and sunday at 9.30 am, the enrollment starts at Entrance Gate, Genepool Eco Park, Nadugani. The programme ends at 4.30pm in the evening. Kindly book your seat. Fees 350/ children (it includes 10 free visit + free lunch will be provided on class + Genepool Eco Park Ambassador Badge).

The Health of Western Ghats is dependent on launch of conservation centres. The Genepool Garden, Nadugani, Gudalur is undoubtedly playing a great role in maintaining the ecological balance and environmental stability in this tract and is playing a vital role in increasing the understanding of the western ghats ecosystem.

This centre is a place of pride for Nilgiris established on 1987 and the effort that has never been undertaken anywhere else in India. This is a learning cm tourism centre for all naturalists. This could well become a KEW garden in the coming days.
