Two different angles to see this incident…
1. First- The Carnival ride support anchorage malfunctioned which we all can see clearly.
2. Second, amazing thing which we are missing to be caught is the Carnival Ride railing structural strength and perfect ancorage to the plateform which is been hold and counter pushed back by more than 15 peoples to generate anti moment so as to prevent carnival ride to overturn. “Hats off to the railing designer.” - His expertise helped many people lives.

Lesson to learn - don’t underestimate codal provisions to design railings and many small structural items which sometimes on which we ignore to take expert guidance. Ex. ASCE 7-16 suggest “ guardrails / grab bars system shall be designed guardrails, grab bars to resist a single concentrated load of 200lb (0.89KN) ( assume a person of 89 kg hanging on the bar) and uniform load of 50 lb/ft (0.73 KN/m) ( assume person of 73 kg pushing the railing with its complete weight at every 3’ on the railing) to be applied in any direction. This video is a perfect demonstration of why to consider code requirements to design a safe structure.

Role of Structural Engineer (SE) vs Architect (Arch).… many says both are like husband and wife. Like wife (Arch) makes you to do annoying things but when husband (SE) fulfill it then only wife will praise by others and Engineers sit back watching them to get all credits of success and enjoy it. 😅

• Review drawings, calculations, material data sheets for compliance with building codes, project specifications, and company standards.
• Making design excel calculation sheets and standard design documents per Indian codes.
• Along with this you will be doing various miscellaneous tasks which will help to boost your management skills.

Minimum Qualifications
• Applicants should be in the process of a bachelors or diploma degree, or a recent college graduate in Civil Engineering field
