so as we are progressing towards completion, we are pretty much satisfied.

although there have been mistakes that could've been avoided, but I think it is hard to foresee those mistakes. you can't take care of everything.

but our client is happy, he can live with those mistakes, and the site , at several moments, looks fantastic.

So we were absent from this page and did not post anything for a long time. Now we have made up our mind to post picture...

So we were absent from this page and did not post anything for a long time.

Now we have made up our mind to post pictures regularly. We have come to believe in this medium. And its ok to tell about our work more often !

These are few pictures from a site in progress. (Though our clients have already moved in and have started using the space)

Sometimes a site starts to speak even when incomplete, work in progress.
You start to get that feeling - this is turning out really well.

Simple aesthetics. Simple value for money work. That the market/industry is forgetting.

Completely free of hyper expensive materials and complex geometry.

Though we will be using one hyper expensive material on client’s request.

I am basically against everything that is over valued.

So here are some pics. Project brief is “complete renovation” of a residence except bathrooms under a tight budget. It is not even their house. They are Rentee. They have leased it for a long period. I am surprised the kind of money they’ve spent on renovating someone else’s house. Its a considerable sum.

So we have used their old material that we thought was useable. Although our client were very apprehensive about using old material in a renovation ! we were pretty confident about it. So in one pic you’ll notice a black granite platform kept over a new cabinetry. That is salvaged from their old kitchen.

You’ll love false ceilings. Though I couldn’t click the pics with ambient lights on, they are still worth it.

We’ve made new chaukhats. They look lovely.

The laminate looks great. Thank god !

In their new kitchen , we are very satisfied with the granite we got. i was using it for the first time, and though I was pretty sure about it, client’s doubt acquired real estate in my head and became a little worried. But it turned out great.

Overall this brand new kitchen made out of ebco fittings is doing both functionally and aesthetically well. A swastik has been made and the housewife has begun using it.

The last picture is from their home office. As of now that sloping table you see is more or less complete. And again it looks good enough.

P.S : the railing is their own, existing one. Client refused to allocate money for railing. It’s ok.

We are a "design and build" firm. so we serve and make our own products also, may be under full ownership or partial. but mostly when we make our own buildings, we are able to do things which usually we are restricted from doing, when working for clients. and when the same clients see that, they feel like "oh we didn't knew it would turn out like this". with miniscule marketing budget we seldom publish low costing ads in leading daily. this weekend and the coming one, Our's this ad will be running in dainik bhaskar.

we just did a quick data visual to help gain some insight on how we have planned spaces. I mean after everything is done, how the area distribution looks like?. and we came up with this. "bedrooms setup" occupy a major portion. almost 32%. then there are living spaces. but what we like here is a whooping 18% is allocated for gardens!. Only "carpet areas" are taken into account. so carpet outside of house is considered here, hence gardens and porch. if we stick to built-up area only, i mean the carpet inside built-up, this chart will change. but that doesn't create an holistic picture.

there is a lot of furniture available all around. from physical stores to online sellers. and most of them are actually good. but we feel a lot of furniture can be made as it used to that is commissioning a carpenter. however that has stopped not because it is a hassle but primarily because design sense has changed altogether. also because local carpenters do not have access to advanced tools. however it has started to happen that local entrepreneurs have set up a workshop having such tools. and this workshop serves many carpenters. so now carpenters ask us to prepare designs for them. and with access to tools, they can do many elements and techniques. we never actually delivered our services to carpenters before, but I think if they can make the exact proportions and use the material we are telling them, a decent work can be produced, may be not as good but just good enough. proportioning is half the beauty. material is other.

for stairs, this time we have placed inlay work design on risers. most of the time people are afraid of puttings designs here. for some it is a blatant waste of money, for some, well they cannot visualise hence will not allow their architect to take risk. we used a simple geometry that too with colors such as green, blue and red !!! (OMG) and the risk paid off. it is looking good.

people should free themselves to practice some degree of innovation. the money spent pays off.

We decided to polish kitchen's floor first so that the task of installation of modular kitchen gets a green signal. Also this gave an idea of labour's capacity for quality of work. Still some work remains to be done, but the floor looks awesome. We have kept a yellow floor with a pattern design over the central part of floor area.

We have made this bathroom in an Italian marble known as rose Italian. It has got red capillaries. Looks and feel awesom...

Marble inlay work has finally started. We waited for a long time due to lack of labour and damage to initial carvings because of rains.

Worth the wait. Layout Looks beautiful. We hope by the time it gets finished, it remains unaffected from rain waters.

Stone and its carvings are an object of desire.

people always ask us how will it look finally. usually studios hand out a 3d angle view on a 2d piece of paper. and walkthroughs are very expensive, mostly out of reach of small design and build studios. so we decided to make a video of our life size model. changes have been made during ex*****on of the project but more or less, it is this.
