MS plate cutting with oxygen and LPG is a process that uses a preheat flame and a high-pressure oxygen stream to cut through the plate. This process is known as oxy-fuel cutting.
How it works
A preheat flame heats the plate to a kindling temperature of about 1800°F.
A high-pressure stream of oxygen is directed at the heated area.
The oxygen stream pierces through the plate, causing a rapid oxidation process.
The oxidized steel melts into slag.
The slag is blown out of the hole created by the oxygen stream.
