An architecture of shade, silence and slow living.

This residence located in a village near Jodhpur cherishes ancient columns 'khambhi' in a minimal way, gives space to the verandah that connects outside to the inside and includes cornices that gives space to the colonial impact.

A contemporary home carrying the memory of ancient dwelling traditions.

Traces of old in new age.

A minimalist home located in the town of Jhunjhunu, Rajasthan with the essence of terracota jaali in boundary and parapet. ​Glass bricks for soft, diffused natural light without compromising structural privacy or thermal insulation. ​Sloping tiled roofs on the smaller overhangs is a nod to traditional architecture & provides shade in heavy sun. ​Chajjas (Sunshades), the thin, horizontal projections over the windows are functional, scaled down for a modern aesthetic but still vital for shading the glass from the harsh sun.
The jharokha at the central double height space welcomes the morning sun rays and reminds of old havelis.

Instead, it reinterprets Indian living for today: spaces that breathe with climate, celebrate light and shadow, embrace togetherness, and remain deeply rooted in culture. In India Modern, every material feels honest, every corner feels lived, and every home becomes a quiet conversation between heritage and the future.

At Udawas, in the tehsil of Jhunjhunu,
a project is slowly taking shape with the context of all six principles of design.

But there is one principle we often fail to recognise — LOVE.

Love is perhaps the most basic, beautiful, and ever-existing principle of design.
Not just the love for architecture, but the love that already exists within the people the space is being made for.

The love between family members that eventually turns a structure into a home.
The trust and care of the clients who dream together and put their faith in the process.
The hard work of the labourers and contractors whose hands quietly shape every wall, corner, and detail with dedication every single day.

A house is never made only with drawings, materials, and dimensions.
It is made with conversations, sacrifices, patience, trust, effort, and the emotions of everyone involved in bringing it to life.

No matter how the process goes, it is this collective love behind the making that keeps every other principle of design relevant — and transforms a house into someone’s favourite place to exist in.
