Through the apt use of reflections 𝗔𝗥𝗞𝗜𝗡𝗗’𝘀 𝗜𝗻𝘁𝗲𝗿𝗻𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻𝗮𝗹 𝗔𝘄𝗮𝗿𝗱 𝗪𝗶𝗻𝗻𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗱𝗲𝘀𝗶𝗴𝗻 imbibes the feel of moving water and greenery to the façade design of these cottages, thus creating dynamic interspaces.

In the re-modelling of the interior of this old building within the hospital complex 𝗔𝗥𝗞𝗜𝗡𝗗’𝘀 𝗶𝗻𝗻𝗼𝘃𝗮𝘁𝗶𝘃𝗲 𝗱𝗲𝘀𝗶𝗴𝗻 uses critically placed 𝗿𝗲𝗳𝗹𝗲𝗰𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻𝘀 𝘁𝗼 𝗰𝗮𝗺𝗼𝘂𝗳𝗹𝗮𝗴𝗲 the closely spaced existing structural elements to evoke a visual feel of spaciousness

In spite of the site posing spatial constraints, the position and orientation of the pool in this 𝗮𝘄𝗮𝗿𝗱 𝘄𝗶𝗻𝗻𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗿𝗲𝘀𝗼𝗿𝘁, along with the apt positioning of cottages and finite refinement of levels using 𝗔𝗥𝗞𝗜𝗡𝗗’𝘀 𝗹𝗮𝘁𝗲𝘀𝘁 𝗺𝗼𝗱𝗲𝗹𝗹𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝘁𝗲𝗰𝗵𝗻𝗼𝗹𝗼𝗴𝗶𝗲𝘀, create these reflections that visually merge the pool and sky

𝗥𝗲𝗳𝗹𝗲𝗰𝘁𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗻𝗮𝘁𝘂𝗿𝗲 and its hues dynamically into the building merges this school seamlessly into the surroundings. 𝗔𝗥𝗞𝗜𝗡𝗗 has won many 𝗶𝗻𝘁𝗲𝗿𝗻𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻𝗮𝗹 𝗮𝗰𝗰𝗼𝗹𝗮𝗱𝗲𝘀 for this project’s design, which includes specially designed facade features that allow students to creatively change the appearance of their school based on seasonal variations of landscape elements.

The reflections of light from the surrounding water body at various times of the day is trapped into this Spiritual Centre through aptly designed facade fenestration.

ARKIND’s design through meticulous modelling of the curves, slope and facade slits, filter in the movements of the reflected light to enhance the spiritual experience of internal spaces.

𝗔𝗥𝗞𝗜𝗡𝗗’𝘀 𝗱𝗲𝘀𝗶𝗴𝗻 for 𝗥𝗲𝘀𝗼𝗿𝘁 𝗽𝗿𝗼𝗷𝗲𝗰𝘁 Summer Homes which won the Finalist status in 𝗪𝗼𝗿𝗹𝗱 𝗔𝗿𝗰𝗵𝗶𝘁𝗲𝗰𝘁𝘂𝗿𝗲 𝗙𝗲𝘀𝘁𝗶𝘃𝗮𝗹 𝗔𝘄𝗮𝗿𝗱 uses the effects of reflection to merge the development into the natural beauty of Munnar.

The 𝗙𝗼𝗿𝗯𝗲𝘀 𝗠𝗮𝗴𝗮𝘇𝗶𝗻𝗲 (most circulated business magazine in the world) endorsed the design as ‘escape to invisible’, which is achieved by planning the positions of the structures and vision angles after careful analysis.

The design uses the combination of topography and effects of reflection to camouflage the development. The flora and fauna of the region is least disturbed by the development, keeping the eco-system intact. Well Studied design of facade, finishes selection for the structure, treatment of transitional spaces and interweaving of agricultural planting enhance the impact of the designed reflections.

This project is a ‘sigh of relief’ from the majority of ‘nature contrasting’ loudly painted buildings in the hilly region.

ARKIND’s award winning design for this resort in Ooty, uses reflections in water body to create a double fold illusion of spaciousness.

The constrained swimming pool reflects the single storey cottages in an angle, thus visually making the pool edge seamless and expansive. The cottages in juxtaposition to one another gradually disappear and merge with the land form. The effect of the reflection increases the visual impact of the cottages as well, making them seem to extend to the horizon.

The site of this project, being divided into various parcels placed a tough challenge to the designer. However, through rigorous planning exercises the pool and various and buildings were positioned such that they merge into each other and with the challenging topography of the site.

This residence at the edge of the lake is blessed with scenic view of sunset. ARKIND’s design manages the layouts of volumes to visually translate in the view of sunset to all open spaces and circulation area in the residence. The fenestration, water features and transitional spaces are designed such that glimpses of the sunset and lake are visible from every non-private space, through apt use of subtle reflections. Nature’s varying hues are thus brought into the residence creating surprising effects of light and shadow during various times and seasons.

ARKIND uses 'Reflections' as a design tool to complement nature and evoke curiosity with a WOW effect at no extra costs. The design of the Craft Hospital’s new block also involved the integration of existing scattered buildings on the campus. Here are design depicts the corporate logo of the client as a fountain in the landscaped roundabout. The design of the building façade glazing and location of the roundabout for traffic management complement each other to reflect an abstract of the logo at the entrance of the hospital. The reflected logo catches the vision of visitors from the main entrance road, well before the fountain reveals itself.
