• West (Front) side elevation •

Set on a narrow trapezoidal plot, this 2975 sq.ft. west-facing home is conceived as an inward-looking sanctuary shaped by mass, void and light.

Two solid earthen volumes anchor the front and rear, while a recessed central mass carves out terraces and courts creating layers of protection from the harsh western sun. A brick screen filters heat and glare, adding depth and porosity to the otherwise monolithic facade.

Inside, a central spine of stairs weaves through an open-to-sky court and double-height volumes, binding living spaces on either side. A bridge overlooking the court encourages interaction, while staggered stair placements enhance spatial drama and vertical volume.

Earth-toned finishes wrap the house as a protective shell grounding the architecture in material honesty and enclosure.

An introverted home. A play of solids and voids.
An Earthen Enclosure.
