Thaj|Fazila Residence
Location : Kattanam, Kerala
Status : completed

Designed as a tropical modern residence where nature and architecture blend seamlessly. The home adopts a linear zoning that organizes spaces into public, semipublic, and private zones, enhancing functionality and the user experience.
A defining feature of the house is the inclusion of the intermediate landscaped courtyards, which not only enhance ventilation and light but also create visual and experiential continuity between indoor and outdoor spaces .
The volumetric variations through stepped roof levels across the three storey hieght,try to creating a dynamic experience as one moves through the space.
The concept or the core idea of the design is trying to prioritize the lived experience of the residents, focusing on internal richness, comfort, and connection to nature, rather than external display.
The house is intentionally conceived to appear as a modest, minimal box from the outside designed to preserve privacy and minimize external expression. Ie From outside, the house appears as a small box, However, upon entering, the full scale, openness, and complexity of the house are gradually revealed or its true scale can be seen only upon moving through the internal spaces or viewing it from a distance outside, where the stepped levels unfold.
