▫️CORRIDOR▫️
A corridor is a linear circulation space organized along a strong axis, intended primarily for movement and spatial connection rather than occupation. Architecturally, it is characterized by elongated proportions, repetitive structural elements, and clearly defined boundaries formed by walls, columns, or piers, which guide the user’s direction and reinforce perspective. Corridors may be enclosed or semi-enclosed, modest or monumental in scale, and are often rhythmically articulated through structural bays and consistent ceiling systems. Functionally, they organize circulation, support wayfinding, and mediate between primary spaces, while experientially they emphasize procession, continuity, and spatial order.
