What lessons can a city built on glass offer architecture students?
In Firozabad, glass is more than an industry; it shapes the city’s spaces, livelihoods, and identity. Together with Ethos Foundation | Arcause , we hosted a participatory design session with students from Dayalbagh Educational Institute, Agra.
The students watched glass move from the furnace to bangles, utensils, and objects the city has made for decades. The craft goes beyond the factory floor. It decides how families here earn, how their days are planned, and what skills get passed on to the next generation. The city did not simply take up glass. Glass gave the city its story.
At the Glass Museum site, currently under construction, our team walked them through the layout, the materials, and the detailing, and how that story has been moulded into a tangible architectural solution.
Grateful to the students for showing up curious, and to ethosarcause for making the day happen.
