It’s been a wild ride for us at Studio MSA! From starting our practice during the lockdown to getting our very first project published on ArchDaily, the journey has been incredible.
As a husband-and-wife team of architects, we lead the design and ex*****on at Studio MSA, but none of this would be possible without the support of our civil consultants, contractors, site supervisors, and, most importantly, the hardworking laborers who bring our ideas to life.

A secondary double-height courtyard which acts as a reading nook with rustic laterite wall enveloped around the tree.

Since there was an existing plinth and wall framework, the massing played an important role in breaking down the entire volume.

Thus creating internal double height volumes which add depth to the spaces, reinforcing the connection between the two floors.

The inward looking layout of the existing house, did not connect with the landscape outside.

A verandah with terracotta jaalis was introduced to give a tropical touch to the design of the house, which would act as a transition space between the inward looking house and the nature outside.

This along with metal louvers facilitates stack ventilation and renders diffused natural light.
