When we shifted to Chandigarh from Ahmedabad last year, this was one of the very first projects we signed up for.
Both the parties were skeptical of each other as nobody around them had signed up with a studio so far from their village and for us the challenge lied in empowering them to understand what experiential architecture was.
Now as the project is nearing completion, both have become more than a contractual setup, site visits seem have turned up into going to meet a relative.
We are thankful to the family for taking the leap of faith in us.

On site 1:1 drawings are the most effective tool to co-create with all the stakeholders, specially contractors in rural areas.
But the existing nature of (most commonly used) technical drawings is not sensitive towards human factors.
Technical drawings made for big urban projects are read by a team of formally trained professionals where as in rural areas/small cities, we have professionals who have acquired skills through experience rather than formal education. Sadly similar drawings are being issued for them thus putting a break to desired co-creation process.
We also loose out a lot on the local wisdom which could have been helpful for a particular project.
Our attempt is to make the drawings as simple and context specific as possible but there is a long way to go.
