deCoDe architecture (de) Co De : (of) Collaborative Design Our work tends to be quiet and subtle putting the focus on the experience rather than the expense.

(de)CoDe architecture is a multidisciplinary design practice specializing in architecture, interior and design consultancy. With over 10 years of professional experience working for various offices in New York City and Bombay, the partners in the practice follow the adage: Keep it simple. We believe in an inclusive, gender-neutral, non-hierarchical, collaborative practice where the only end goal i

s a happy client. The work of the firm draws on the diverse backgrounds and interests of its two partners, but is eventually realized through a process of active engagement with a broader network of consultants, contractors, craftspeople and the client. We consistently draw on these experiences and resources to inform our practice and through our teaching positions at various schools of Architecture.

The Study.

These are the ones that got away from the photographer. The ones that we completed but couldn’t photograph due to multiple reasons.

The next in this series is our apartment project in Miramar, Goa. The residence was in an old apartment building near Miramar beach near Panaji in Goa. Measuring around 1400 sft. with three bedrooms, the apartment needed a major upgrade to bring it up to habitable conditions for the owner. The project was designed and executed through the period of the pandemic with the client handling all the contracting and sourcing of material while we handled design and drawings.

We completed this project just before the pandemic struck and then never got a chance to visit or photograph it.

So here are the renders for the project done by who was interning with us at the studio.

The Master Bedroom. The existing bedroom was a typical space from a home of the early 80’s with tightly spaced grills on the windows and a dark pink color on the walls. The rooms needed a serious upgrade and needed to be dragged into the current era.

These are the ones that got away from the photographer. The ones that we completed but couldn’t photograph due to multiple reasons.

The children’s bedroom.

Starting a new series of images!

These are the ones that got away from the photographer. The ones that we completed but couldn’t photograph due to multiple reasons.

Starting the series with the Residence at Bhowanipore, Kolkata. This was a 1850 square feet, 3 bedroom apartment in a building that was stuck in time due to some legal issues. The clients, a young family of two brothers wanted to update the apartment and bring it up to modern taste.

We completed this project just before the pandemic struck and then never got a chance to visit or photograph it.

So here are the renders for the project done by who was interning with us at the studio.

Kitchens are always the heart(h) of the home.

The living space at the apartment when we got the project was expansive with a single large exposure towards one side. The light couldn’t reach the other end of the apartment.

We divided the large expanse into three zones; a prayer space towards the window, a gathering space towards the middle and a dining space with an entrance foyer unit towards the entry door.
