Brahma kamal / Queen of night
The name itself is bit controversial as people say the real brahma kamal grows only in Uttarakhand and Himalayas. But locally everyone refer as Brahma Kamal only.

Brahma Kamal is a night flower which starts to bloom around 9 pm and fully blooms by 11 pm and withers by morning. The strong fragrance is irresistible whole night!!
It is a rare plant and people consider to be lucky if the flower blooms in their homes. Some even do pooja from this flower in midnight.
Just plant a leaf and wait for one / two years for the plant to grow big and starts flowering. Sometimes one need to have lots of patience to wait for the plant to start flowering coz some take few years too. It does not need much water. Normally it flowers between July to September. Surprisingly our house flowers are blooming even in December and each year we are getting more than 20 flowers in each plant.

Last week we had total 21 Brahma Kamal flowers blooming altogether in two big plants in our garden.
