First pasta stories are always special 🤍

That evening, Aadhu suddenly came to me and asked,
“Amma, can you make me chicken pasta?”

He had never tried pasta before, but somehow from school or videos, this little craving had entered his mind. I didn’t have chicken at home, but I really wanted him to enjoy his first pasta experience.

So Amma did what Ammas do best — a quick little kitchen jugaad. I had paneer in the fridge, chopped it into tiny pieces, roasted it slightly until golden, and made a creamy, cheesy pasta with a few veggies. I quietly added the paneer “chicken,” lots of cheese, and hoped for the best.

And guess what?
He loved it. Approved it. Finished it happily saying Chicken Pasta is good 👍

So here it is — Aadhu’s first-ever pasta, Amma’s epic fix, and one tiny food memory I wanted to document forever.

A happy mom moment, served in a bowl. 🥹🍝🤍🧿

Tried this instant tomato rava set dosa with rava, poha, Greek yogurt for that extra protein, and a bright orange twist because Aadhu approved the color. 🧡( nothing but blended Kashmiri chilli and tomato )

Soft, spongy, porous, and so comforting — especially for someone who can never say no to set dosa and vada curry back home. Paired it with coconut pottukadalai chutney, and just like that, Saturday morning breakfast was beautifully sorted.

Last Monday’s little kitchen win ✨

No dosa batter, a tiny piece of paneer waiting in the fridge, some carrot, half a capsicum, Greek yogurt, and rava… and somehow, this instant carrot paneer rava paniyaram happened.

I chopped up whatever veggies I had, mixed them with rava and Greek yogurt, added a quick tadka, a little jeera, pepper, coriander leaves, and poured the batter into the paniyaram pan. What came out was pure happiness — crispy outside, super soft inside, and full of flavor in every bite.

And the other half of the capsicum? That became a rustic capsicum peanut chutney, which turned out to be the perfect pair. The best part? Aadhu loved it too, and that always makes the experiment feel extra special. 🥹

After a busy week, with our May 3rd prod release around the corner and the May 4th Tamil Nadu election results on my mind — fingers crossed for both 🤞 — it feels nice to slow down, come back here, and share a little food story again.

Here’s my carrot paneer rava paniyaram — a small leftover makeover, a big flavor bomb. 🤎

There are some breakfasts that do more than just fill your stomach… they quietly fill a part of your heart too.

After what felt like ages, I made poori and potato masala on a Sunday morning, and with the very first batch of hot, puffed pooris, I was no longer just in my kitchen — I was home in my memories. Back home, Sunday mornings often meant Amma making hot pooris and potato masala, and somehow that simple plate carries so much comfort, love, and nostalgia.

Maybe today, I missed home a little extra. With family gathered back in our hometown for a function this weekend, the distance felt more real. More than me, I kept thinking about Aadhu too… how he might have missed a little time with his cousins, the laughter, the chaos, the togetherness. But life has its own reasons, and maybe every season comes with its own meaning.

So today, food became therapy in the most beautiful way. Hot pooris, comforting masala, long phone calls with family, and a heartwarming conversation with my brother that went in all directions — with, of course, a generous share of Vijay fan moments and TN elections.

And just like that, the weekend ended on a full-hearted note — with great food, great conversations, and the kind of joy that slowly finds its way back home.

Cooked prawns after so long, and I could not decide what I wanted — curry, masala, roast, or fry. So I did the best thing possible… turned it into a one-pot prawn pulav

The prawns were first fried with salt, chilli powder, and pepper, and in that very same pot, the pulav came together, soaking up all that beautiful flavor. Finished with those juicy fried prawns on top, and honestly… this turned out way too good.

With the weather being so pleasant last week, this was the kind of comforting meal that felt just perfect. Warm, flavorful, and deeply satisfying.

Randomly scrolling through my gallery today… and found this plate of idiyappam with chicken gravy hiding there like a forgotten gem 🤍

Some meals don’t need an occasion, they just feel like home.
A plate of rasam, crispy fish fry, and cabbage peas poriyal — my kind of perfect comfort food.
Put together in the middle of a busy, busy week, yet it turned into the most soulful and satisfying lunch.
Simple, quick, blissful… and exactly what I needed. ✨

Weekend experiments like this are exactly my kind of happiness ✨
Made this instant badam halwa in just 5 minutes in the microwave, and honestly, I still can’t believe something this rich, soft, and melt-in-the-mouth came together so quickly. I had seen this recipe trending and kept wondering if a drool-worthy halwa could really happen in five minutes… but this one proved it can.

Shared it with my friends over the weekend, and the reactions made it even sweeter. And when I sent the picture home, it instantly reminded me of the famous badam halwa my mom loves back in India. This may be the instant version, but it felt so close to that nostalgic taste — and that made it extra special for me 🤍

For sudden sweet cravings, surprise guests, or a quick potluck treat, this one is such a winner.

A quick photo, a rushed morning, and a pot full of happiness. đź’›
Made this Kerala-style fish curry with mango and drumstick for today’s potluck, and before serving, I hurriedly clicked this picture because I almost forgot to capture it.

The best part? Hearing that it tasted just like authentic native fish curry. That one comment was enough to make my whole day.

And beyond my dish, what made today truly special was seeing everyone bring food with so much love, even on a busy working day. Tasting each dish, hearing the stories behind them, and sharing that moment together made the potluck feel extra wholesome.

Some days are remembered not just for the food, but for the people you share it with.

Some cravings don’t leave you… they quietly travel with you through years, places, and memories.
M***a puffs is one of those for me. From college days in India to my post-work snack runs back in Nagercoil, this bakery-style favorite has always held a special place in my heart. Every time we stepped into a bakery, this was almost always my order.
I had been wanting to recreate it for the longest time, but somehow kept postponing it. Until this Eid.

With a packed Friday, endless tasks, and a little surprise plan in my heart, I finally made it happen—for my dear friend celebrating her first Ramzan in the US. A quick egg masala, buttery pastry sheets, golden egg wash… and into the oven they went.

And to my happiest surprise, the very first try turned out exactly how I had imagined it—crisp, flaky, bakery-style, with that perfect comforting masala inside.
A snack I grew up loving, made with memory, mood, and a little festive love. 🤍
