S.A.D. News! End of an Era.

With heavy hearts we share that Prof. Shireesh Atmaram Deshpande (S.A.D.) passed away peacefully on 10/04/2026 at 91. A pioneer of architectural education, founder of the M.Arch in Architecture Education and a beloved mentor at VNIT — his wisdom, eloquence and guidance shaped generations. The funeral procession will leave the family residence on 11/04 at ~4:00 PM.

We grieve his loss and celebrate a life that illuminated our discipline. S.A.D.’s legacy will continue to inspire the architecture community forever.

Today at VCA Jamtha Stadium, a large number of people from the field of social service gathered to pay their respects to the late Shri Datta Bhau Medhe. The respected Union Minister Hon. Shri Nitinji Gadkari and the Chief Minister of Maharashtra Hon. Shri Devendraji Fadnavis attended, and the assembly concluded with their prominent presence.

On this occasion, remembering his great work, his selfless service to society, and his tireless efforts for the public good, we offered humble salutations and heartfelt tributes. His work and ideas will remain an inspiration for future generations.

Deeply saddened by the passing of Architect Prem Nath (06/06/1941 - 25/02/2026). My heartfelt condolences to his family, colleagues and the architectural community.

Ar. Prem Nath’s journey is the stuff of legend and a lesson for every young architect: in his early, lean days he would sit in the grand lobbies and restaurants of the Taj, buying tea and time to meet patrons — a deliberate, courageous way to build networks and earn trust. That persistence led him to cross paths with Mr. Dhirubhai Ambani and win commissions that helped define his career. From those first hard-won projects to nationally recognized commissions for commercial and institutional landmarks, his practice became a blueprint for resilience, courage and entrepreneurial spirit.

As a team of Syed Mobin Architects, we salute a man who showed that talent paired with grit can reshape a life and a profession. His work and his story will continue to inspire generations of architects to dream boldly and pursue opportunities with humility and determination.

You will always be remembered with deep respect and gratitude, Architect Prem Nath — your legacy endures.

With deep sorrow we announce the passing of Shri Avinash B. Dongre, a pioneering and principled architect of Nagpur who left us last night. A rare true professional and inspiring mentor, his legacy will continue to guide and uplift the fraternity. He will be deeply missed by the IIA and IIID Nagpur chapters.
Heartfelt condolences to his family and loved ones.
