A Clay Story

A Clay Story A Clay Story, a brand aspiring to tell a tale of lovingly handcrafted ceramics for everyday use.

In today's world of mass produced perfection, the little flaws of a handcrafted piece are what make it unique. Each creation contains in it a part of the soul of the artist, narrating her story, piece by piece. Introducing you to A Clay Story, a brand aspiring to tell a tale of lovingly handcrafted ceramics, made in a small artisanal workshop.

A few months ago, customised this wall art for a beautiful home in Kerela.

Glazed in hues of warm terracotta, rust, and burnt sienna that blend like sunlight over shifting sand dunes, this wall art evokes the warmth of a desert at golden hour.

The glazing process required a lot of thinking, planning and moving deliberately...which is not how usually function. The tilws were numbered and glazed in batches as I wanted a subtle gradation as you come from top to bottom to create depth in the composition.

I am currently re-imagining these with various themes and would love to know what you think of these and is there any theme you would like me tp explore?

Exploring an old form in a new glaze. I have been playing around with these rock-like forms for a while now but always felt like I haven't married the glaze combo-form well yet.

A few experiments in, I think I am happier with this look. A few more ideas to explore further, but this seems like a good start.

I am curious would a form like this get a space on your tables or your shelf? Would you use it to serve kebabs or keep it as a decor piece on some books plopped away on a shelf? I'd love to know :)

This is not a productivity workshop. Not a packed itinerary. Not a luxury escape pretending to be restful while exhausting you in new ways.

Just five days of slowing down.

Working with clay in the middle of apple orchards. Learning with your hands instead of your screen. Sharing meals, conversations, mountain walks, and evenings around a fire with a small group of people who are all arriving for their own reasons — burnout, curiosity, creative hunger, or simply the desire to spend some time differently.

You don’t need any experience with pottery. You just need a willingness to arrive as you are.

3 months ago, when I got accepted into the program by and I thought it was a mistake.

What is an artist supposed to do in an IIM?

The moment I walked through the gates of the college, I was enamored by tge beautiful campus! And what came after was a series of 🤯moments.

The professors - who not only are so accomplished, inspiring and insanely good at what they teach - but they're so humble at the same time. Each professor brought perspectives, truth bombs and laughter.

The team, who has always had our backs, for anything we needed on and off campus.

And ofcourse the incredible women in my cohort, coming from all kinds of backgrounds being the boss women they are. Managing their businesses, families, kids and everything around it.

Every conversation, every personal story, every win, every low, every idea discussed in the last three months has been a learning.

There is no better feeling than being surrounded by women who want you to win. And this place, surrounded by the top 0.0001% people (as we were reminded of constantly) has left me inspired and exhilirated.

The journey has just begun...

So much more to share from this experience.

...and it was all PINK!

Every once in a while, I get a project that makes you do things you otherwise wouldn't. This was a dinner set gifted from a mother to a daughter for her first home. She loved pink, and flowers and everything pretty! With full creative freedom, I paired things that I would if I wanted a set for myself.

And I am pretty stoked with how this turned out...the whites in the small plates and tumblers cut through the pink-ness of the rest of the set. I love the mix-match of everything and yet it feels cohesive.

What do you think? I'd love to know your thoughts
