This is the updates page for the Pune Center of Origami Mitra. What's Origami Mitra? We are a humble group of origami addicts! Informally grouped, we are based in India and have centers in several cities: Mumbai, Pune, Ahmedabad, Nagpur. We are the Origami Mitra – friends of and for origami. Founded by Mrs. Indu Tilak in 1981, our myriad group has blossomed with people of all ages and professions.

We all approach this art in a different way: scientific, methodic, purist, artistic…we have all these temperaments in our group. Collectively we teach each other techniques and models. Individually we teach ourselves patience. Our meetings are very colorful, what with all the origami paper around, and the wonderful people and books to add shades! Our library has a collection of over 200 origami books for reference. We are very active in spreading a word about origami through workshops, demonstrations, and exhibitions. Twice a year we all go into a cocoon (a camp for your convenience) to refresh our origami skills. Origami Mitra member Manas Manoj Joshi .joshi.2000 , Pune based architect and origami artist, has been featured in Sakal Saptahik for his remarkable 14-year journey in 3D Origami. From his first inspiration at an origami exhibition to creating large scale architectural replicas like the Taj Mahal, Sagrada Familia, and now the Ram Mandir project, his work reflects precision, patience, and deep structural understanding. Thousands of paper triangles, months of dedication, and architectural vision come together where origami transforms into monument scale art.

विद्यार्थी सहायक समिती येथे ओरिगामी कार्यशाळा

विद्यार्थी सहायक समिती, पुणे, येथील दृश्य कला विभागाच्या उद्घाटनप्रसंगी Origami Mitra Pune च्या वतीने विद्यार्थ्यांसाठी ओरिगामी कार्यशाळेचे आयोजन करण्यात आले. या कार्यशाळेचे संयोजन प्रज्ञा सातारकर, आयोजन हेमंत राजहंस व समन्वय निमिष पोतनीस यांनी केले.

या उपक्रमात Origami Mitra Pune चे सदस्य पूर्णिमा, उन्मेष, रूपाली आणि ऋतुजा यांनी सक्रिय सहभाग घेत विद्यार्थ्यांना ओरिगामी कलेचे प्रत्यक्ष मार्गदर्शन केले.

कार्यक्रमास प्रमुख पाहुणे म्हणून विवेक खटावकर (प्रसिद्ध शिल्पकार), तुषार रंजनकर (कार्यकारी विश्वस्त व उद्योजक), डॉ. ज्योती गोगटे (उद्योजिका), तसेच हेमंत राजहंस(चित्रकार) आणि प्रभाकर पाटील उपस्थित होते.

तसेच समितीचे कार्यकर्ते विनया ठोंबरे,समितीचे कार्यकर्ते विनया ठोंबरे, संजय अमृते, प्रदीप मांडके, कविता हेबाळकर आणि अनिता कहाते, सौ. शुभांगी चिरपुटकर आणि सौ. नीता गुळवणी यांचीही उपस्थिती लाभली.

दिनांक 13 व 14 डिसेंबर ला वैशाखरे, ता. मुरबाड, जि. ठाणे येथे ‘भिंगरी कला मोहोत्सव 2025’ झाला. तिथे ओरिगामी मित्र ला कार्यशाळा घेण्यासाठी आमंत्रण होत. तिथे साधारण 200 मुलं व मुलींचा वर्कशॅाप घेतल.
