How green is your garden? How green is your home? Ask these questions to yourself and keep your surroundings clean and green. Making your house eco-friendly can be overwhelming at times. There are many home ideas which require cash but not huge expenses. In my opinion giving a green over look to the house doesn’t bust your financial plan. There are plenty ways to make your home green within a budget. They are

Reduce water consumption: Daily a person uses more than 100 litres of water for all the miscellaneous purposes. Spend less time under shower which can conserve water. Plants and shrubs in the garden can be watered more. Preserving water is a way to save bills and also a tactic to go green.

Save electricity: Avoid the high power supply goods like air conditioners, geezers etc. Use them as per the usage because the extra storage or usage system may cost you extra money. If bought a new refrigerator, don’t leave the old one plugged in. Based upon the circumstances, use energy saving light like energy efficient bulbs. They save up to 80percent of the power and helps you save a lot of money.

Eco-friendly building: Rather putting decorative items at home put few potted plants which give a pleasant look and greens the atmosphere. Plant few shaded trees and shrubs around the house which creates a good landscaping.

Ventilation: A well-insulated house keeps the fresh air inside the home and gives a good indoor quality. So proper ventilation is a must in exchanging the outgoing and incoming air. This also helps in controlling moisture by reducing it and foul smell.

Recycle: Repairing things should be done or they should be recycled. The old home appliances are often inexpensive. Never trash your old electronics. Those materials contain many toxic elements which mix up in the soil and cause many adverse conditions. So say no to trash electronics, try recycling them. Trashing cell phones can also be dangerous to the environment so recycle them.

Own cleaning agents: Many cleaning products can be homemade like baking soda, lemon extracts and others. Such product may require less money and time. They help to live in a healthy environment.

So save the regular grocery items, buy the goods economically, save the resources and be eco-friendly. The 21 century should be a revolution in using the sustainable and renewable energy sources. Implement various plans like global warming, warehouse effect and so on to make our planet earth green. If such schemes are followed by the people, they can keep their house and surroundings also clean. The small things which are done at home can cost much for a safe earth.

Pune Municipal Corporation to give 25 AC buses to Pune Mahanagar Parivahan Mahamandal Limited

TNN Oct 24, 2012,

PUNE: The Pune Municipal Corporation (PMC) will soon be buying 25 air-conditioned (AC) buses which will be handed over to the Pune Mahanagar Parivahan Mahamandal Limited (PMPML) for being deployed for the city's public transport. Also, at least three of the new buses will be used for 'Pune Darshan' which is a city tour operated by the PMPML for tourists.

The civic body has recently invited quotations from automobile companies and other agencies for the buses.

MLC Mohan Joshi, who has been following up on the proposal of purchase of AC buses, said a fresh budgetary provision has been made this year for buying the buses.

Last year, in February, the PMC's standing committee had made a provision of Rs 12.5 crore for buying 25 AC buses. The standing committee had then said the buses would be used exclusively for IT professionals and for a bus service to the Pune airport. The modern buses were supposed to have LCD screens and charging facilities for cell phones and laptops. However, the proposal never materialised and was soon forgotten amidst the run-up to the civic elections earlier this year. Joshi said the budgetary provision had lapsed after the end of the financial year 2011-12, however, a fresh provision was made in this year's civic budget.

Joshi said that the PMPML may also get about 50 more buses over the next few months. These buses were earlier supposed to be purchased by the Nagpur Municipal Corporation under the Jawaharlal Nehru National Urban Renewal Mission, he added.

Meanwhile, last November, the PMPML had also announced a separate plan to get 100 AC buses from private operators who would invest in the buses and operate and maintain them for a period of 10 years. The operators would have the right to retain the ticket revenues and revenues from advertisement on buses. However, there was no response to this proposal and the plan was abandoned.
