Wildlife Rescue

Our volunteers perform this activity in and around Rajkot city throughout the year. Helpline telephone numbers are circulated through emails, sms and newspapers. People call us whenever they encounter injured wild animal, may it be a monitor lizard, a snake, a bat or a bird.

Most of the calls that we receive for injured birds is during Uttarayan (Kite-flying festival). A temporary first-aid centre is also established during this time.

Snakes are rescued from the residential areas generally during monsoon and late summer when their breeding season is at its peak.

We release the animals and birds in their natural habitat as soon as they are fit. Other not-so-common animals rescued are jackal, nilgai, fox, hedgehog, turtles and jungle cat.

season is at its peak.
