Washington offers opportunities to participate in coveted hunts while directly supporting conservation and wildlife management in the state. These special hunt permits offer a variety of benefits for hunters throughout Washington.
Special hunting permit applications can be purchased annually for deer, elk, mountain goat, bighorn sheep, moose, and wild turkey, offering quality hunting opportunities around the state. Get the most out of your hunting seasons this year with special hunt applications available through May 24.
Whether youтАЩre new to special hunt drawings, still on the fence about trying, or have just been meaning to get your applications in, check out what special hunts can do for you:
тАв There are nearly 900 special hunts to choose from across dozens of categories and five big game species plus wild turkey.
тАв In addition to special hunts open to any hunter, there are also specific options for youth, hunters with disabilities, hunters age 65 and older, and those in the Master Hunter program.
тАв Some hunts are exclusive opportunities to hunt outside of general seasons, increasing your odds for a successful harvest.
тАв You can enjoy less competition with a limited number of hunters in the field during your special hunt.
тАв You'll accumulate preference points over time to increase your chances of being drawn.
Special hunt applications can be purchased online at https://www.mywdfw.com/, at license dealer locations, or by phone at 360-902-2464. Find a license dealer near you at https://wdfw.wa.gov/licenses/dealers. You will still need to submit your applications by midnight May 24 online or by phone at 360-902-2464.
