Why kitchen Garden?
Kitchen gardening is something we can all do to green our cities. This is a garden where you grow your food—herbs, vegetables, fruits.
There are several benefits of a kitchen garden:
It purifies the air: the greener the city more fresh and pure the air
vegetables and Fruits: the daily need for fruits and veggies can be provided, as the agricultural land is decreasing day by day.
soothing effect to mind: having a greener balcony or surroundings gives peace of mind.
staying humble and grounded: by connecting to mother earth we can stay connected to our roots.
Food as medicine: Herbs like Tulsi, Brahmi, mint, etc can be grown and used along with modern medicine.
Recycling and composting: Good manure can be generated from kitchen waste and several plastic items can be recycled.
Stay healthy: working in the kitchen garden will burn around 150 to 250 calories within half an hour.
and finally, it is cheap and easy to start with and gradually expanding.
