Spread across three cascading levels, the structure first appears as a subtle presence, gradually revealing its architectural rhythm from shifting vantage points. Rooted in Tropical Modernism, the design balances refinement with raw natural beauty, embracing clean lines and a material palette that echoes the land. Spaces flow seamlessly between shelter and openness, blurring the line between built form and nature. More than a retreat, it is an immersive dialogue between architecture and the environment.

The KSRTC Terminal in Ranni is designed to seamlessly accommodate modern travel needs while ensuring universal accessibility. Its layout is strategically planned to align with the existing private bus terminal, featuring a thoughtfully oriented façade. The terminal includes an AC lounge, commercial kiosks, spacious waiting areas, and a restaurant/commercial space on the top floor. Additionally, it offers essential amenities such as toilets, feeding rooms, ATMs, and water kiosks to enhance passenger convenience.

The design follows a minimalistic approach, emphasizing functionality and a clean, simple aesthetic. Beyond serving as a transportation hub, the terminal acts as a modern landmark, strengthening the town’s urban identity while enhancing public space and accessibility.

Rhythm is a thoughtfully designed compact urban residence that harmoniously integrates modern living with the cultural essence of its surroundings. Positioned along a traditional heritage street, the home embodies the principles of Tropical Modernism, ensuring a balance of functionality, comfort, and connection to nature.

Despite its compact site, the residence efficiently accommodates three bedrooms, two living spaces, and a cozy courtyard, fostering a sense of openness and tranquility. A key design highlight is the mezzanine space, which enhances vertical interaction, making the two floors more engaging and dynamic. The architectural approach prioritizes natural light, ventilation, and spatial fluidity, creating a serene and inviting living environment.

Every home holds a story, and sometimes, it just needs a new chapter!
In Payyanur, Kannur, a conventional two-story concrete house longed for a fresh identity. Inspired by the Tropical Modernist approach, we refined its proportions, introduced a balanced color palette, and made subtle interior interventions, giving it a contemporary yet timeless facelift without disrupting its essence. To bring nature closer, we thoughtfully integrated plants and trees, weaving the landscape into the home’s fabric. What was once a rigid structure now breathes in harmony with its surroundings. The homeowners envisioned a refreshing new look, and we’ve done our best to bring it to life.

A few months after completion, we revisited the home to see how it had settled into its new identity. Witnessing how the space had evolved with the family’s life reaffirmed the essence of our design approach, creating homes that grow, adapt, and truly belong.
