Wuyawon is the new ground flower in the District of Ukhrul. A pink flower that covers a stretch of low hillocks in Shingcha Village which is about two hours drive from the Dist. Hq. (46 kms) and 91 Kms from Imphal. The people of Shingcha Village came up the official name Wuyawon on the 24th July 2016. The name is given after mount Wuya Kachui which is home to this flower.
Botanical name: Caulokaemperia Secunda
Family: Zingiberaceae (Ginger Family)
Synonym: Monolophus Secunda, Kaempferia Secunda
Local Name: Shingcha Wuyawon

The people of Shingcha Village will be hosting it’s official opening festival to the public on the 22nd July 2017
