‘Industrial Cosy – soft colours, cosy atmosphere’
The original flat had a separate kitchen, small windows and correspondingly dark rooms. The installation of large windows and the removal of the dividing wall to the kitchen and the wall to the corridor created open, light-flooded areas that can still be zoned thanks to an elegant glass wall.
Until now, the stairwell had only been lit by narrow window slits. These were enlarged and fitted with web glass to optimally capture daylight while maintaining privacy.
To create a bright, inviting atmosphere, we chose a soft colour scheme of grey and beige tones for the kitchen fronts and the colour scheme of the bathroom. These subtle shades reflect the available light perfectly, making the rooms appear larger and more open, while also providing a calm backdrop for the striking design accents.
The client loves the ‘industrial style’ with black-framed industrial windows, as seen in factories from the early 20th century. These robust, graphic elements create an exciting contrast to the soft colours, while the herringbone parquet flooring adds warmth and texture to the rooms as a natural material. This creates a harmonious balance between industrial character and cosy comfort.
The combination of soft colours, natural materials and striking details makes the flat a harmonious home: bright, lively, yet calming – a place that radiates personality and invites you to feel at ease.
