𝗩𝗝𝗢𝗦𝗔 𝗥𝗜𝗩𝗘𝗥𝗣𝗔𝗥𝗞

Station 2, on the opposite side of the valley, narrates the end of this river by leaning on the banks of its Delta. Unlike station 1 which is rich in matter and descends the weight of its volumes, station 2 re-presents dynamicity. The Vjosa River is the last wild river in Europe and one of its main features is its still free movement with no alteration or obstacles. It transports huge quantities of matter from its source to the Adriatic Sea and modifies its sinuous and undulating forms over time. Station 2 then connects everything related to its ecology, climate, its changes, its importance in the ecological system of the park.

𝗩𝗝𝗢𝗦𝗔 𝗥𝗜𝗩𝗘𝗥𝗣𝗔𝗥𝗞
The Visitor Center is situated along a slope with sweeping views of the river and mountains. It features a single-floor design, partially built into the hillside, with two key structures: a "Ziggurat" leading to a level facing the castle and a "Covered Dome" oriented toward the church. The entrance is on the terrace, with a ramp leading to a foyer housing essential amenities. The "Ziggurat" includes a courtyard displaying local plants and stones. Visitors follow a storytelling path down to a research hub, which can operate independently. The building uses local stone, wood, and corten steel to blend with the landscape, ensuring it complements rather than competes with the castle.

𝗩𝗝𝗢𝗦𝗔 𝗥𝗜𝗩𝗘𝗥𝗣𝗔𝗥𝗞

Station 1, located in the source of the river is characterized by its mountainous and rocky landscapes. In the heart of the mountain ranges the mineral colors, the weight of the rock and the shade of the forest trees creates a particular sensitive connection with the ground. This phase of the route represents the descent, it’s a digging the ground to the origin of the river currents. Station 1 narrates the origin of the Vjosa Valley history and takes us to observe, touch and get closer to matter inside the mountain.

𝗩𝗝𝗢𝗦𝗔 𝗥𝗜𝗩𝗘𝗥𝗣𝗔𝗥𝗞

The overlay of different mapped data highlights areas of interest such as protected zones, forests, accessible routes, and cultural monuments. The territory is organized into 10km x 10km quadrants, facilitating detailed analysis and management of each area. Route distances are measured, enabling the creation of itineraries based on various factors like difficulty, elevation, and accessibility. Medium and long-distance routes are designed for experienced hikers, offering accommodations along the way, while short-distance routes, often educational and thematic, are well-served and typically completed in a day.
