Developed for archaeological and landscape environments, this custom outdoor fixture was designed to provide controlled grazing illumination with minimal visual intrusion.

Compact dimensions, corten steel finishes and controlled optics allow the fixture to integrate discreetly into the site while preserving the atmosphere of the landscape.

Lighting archaeological landscapes means working with darkness, perception and minimal visual impact.

For the Necropolis of Crocifisso del Tufo in Orvieto, Zero55 developed custom outdoor lighting solutions designed to integrate discreetly into the landscape while guiding visitors through the site.

Controlled optics and low-profile fixtures create an immersive night experience that preserves the atmosphere of the environment.

Milan reminded us that light is not just a function, but an integral part of architecture.

Thank you to everyone who joined the April 29 event organized together with Arketipo and the Milan Order of Architects.

An opportunity to discuss integration, visual comfort, invisible light, and contemporary lighting design.

At Zero55, every solution begins through dialogue with architects, designers, and lighting professionals, developing custom lighting systems that enhance spaces without altering their identity.

Where light becomes part of architecture.

Designing lighting for historic architecture
means working within constraints:

– protected surfaces
– existing systems
– complex geometries

On April 29, we will present three real projects
where light is designed to integrate, not to dominate.

• Firenze — Palazzo Portinari Salviati
• Roma — Castel Sant’Angelo
• Padova — Museo della Natura e dell’Uomo

Lighting design is not only about fixtures.
It is about how light interacts with architecture.

In historic spaces, controlling the distribution of light is essential to reveal surfaces without altering the perception of the space.

Uniform light on floors, walls and ceilings allows architecture to remain the protagonist.

These principles will be discussed during the technical lecture in Milan on April 29.

When working with historic architecture, lighting cannot be standard.

Every intervention must respect the space, the materials and the perception of the place.

On April 29th, Zero55 will present a lecture in Milan exploring how lighting can integrate within complex architectural contexts.

From the frescoed and wooden ceilings of Florence
to the spiral ramp of Castel Sant’Angelo.

On April 29th, Zero55 will take part in a technical lecture in Milan hosted by the Ordine degli Architetti.

Custodire l’invisibile — when light becomes a design material

Lighting design in historic architecture requires precision, control and respect for the existing space.

During the lecture we will present three projects where lighting had to integrate with complex architectural contexts:

• Palazzo Portinari Salviati — Firenze
• Castel Sant’Angelo — Roma
• Museo della Natura e dell’Uomo — Padova

Three different challenges.
One design principle:

light must reveal architecture without altering it.

Light as a tailored element of architecture.

Our interview with ARKETIPO explores the design approach behind Zero55: integrating light into architecture without altering the perception of space.

In heritage and museum contexts, light does not need to dominate.
It must preserve.

From projects such as Palazzo Portinari, Castel Sant’Angelo and the Museum of Nature and Humankind in Padua, to the development of integrated systems like DIVE, designed to disappear within the architecture.

For us, technology is never an object to exhibit.
It is a tool serving the project.
