For more than 130 years, Natalijas Draudziņa School has been part of Riga’s educational and sporting life 🇱🇻

Today, its aquatic centre has entered a new phase through a renovation based on RenovAction technology. Developed together with our local dealer Spa Servisa Centrs, the intervention upgraded the existing facility while preserving the original structure, improving long-term reliability, safety and overall performance with reduced impact on the building itself.

A project that reflects how existing aquatic infrastructure can continue evolving over time 💧

Suspended seven stories above ground between two residential buildings, the Hawthorn Park sky pool in Melbourne highlights what modular pool engineering can make possible in high rise environments 💧

The pool structure was assembled directly on top of a bridge using lightweight modular stainless steel panels transported by goods lift, an approach that simplified installation in a highly constrained setting.

Designed to accommodate up to 50 mm of structural deflection while maintaining a watertight seal around multiple acrylic panels, the project demonstrates how Myrtha technology can support ambitious architectural concepts where traditional construction methods would face significant limitations.

A closer look at the construction process behind Hawthorn Park ✨

Celebrating 30 years of Myrtha Pools in Australia 🇦🇺

Thirty years ago, our Australian journey began in Perth with a pool delivered ahead of the 8th World Aquatics Championships. At the time, Myrtha’s stainless-steel technology was still largely unknown across the country. Today, more than 200 Myrtha pools are part of Australia’s aquatic landscape.

Over the past three decades, this journey has grown through major competition venues, community learn-to-swim facilities and projects supporting regional and remote communities, together with the local dealers and partners who have helped shape Myrtha’s presence across the country. Pools in Australia are more than sporting infrastructure, they are places connected to safety, wellbeing and everyday community life.

Thirty years on, this story continues through aquatic facilities designed for long-term performance, reliability and public value 🏊🏼

In Christchurch, New Zealand, the Parakiore Recreation and Sport Centre was developed as part of the city’s post-earthquake renewal, becoming a symbol of resilience, adaptability and long-term community investment 🇳🇿

Located in a region affected by significant seismic activity, the project required solutions capable of adapting to ground movement while ensuring long-term reliability. Myrtha Pools’ modular stainless steel technology was selected for its inherent flexibility and resistance, helping the aquatic infrastructure absorb structural stress and maintain operational continuity over time.

At the heart of the centre are a 50-metre competition pool with movable floor and movable bulkhead, and a 25-metre pool, both built to World Aquatics standards. Diving, leisure, wellness and family-oriented aquatic areas complete one of New Zealand’s most ambitious sports and recreation facilities.

Designed for both high-performance sport and everyday community use, Parakiore reflects how engineering can respond to the specific conditions of a place while supporting people for decades to come 💧

65 years today, 5 May, marks an important milestone for our company, a story that began in 1961 with a simple idea and the determination to shape a market that did not yet exist.

From early steps in packaging to the introduction of imported pools, the journey has been defined by constant evolution. A key turning point came in 1977 with the development of Myrtha technology, combining modular stainless steel panels with a high-resistance membrane to deliver flexibility, durability and speed of installation.

Since then, our pools have hosted over 190 world records and featured in six Olympic Games, alongside World Championships and major international events. The same approach has extended into hospitality, wellness and public facilities across more than 70 countries.

Today, innovation and sustainability remain central, from temporary Olympic pools designed for legacy reuse to advanced systems that improve efficiency and indoor air quality.

A 65-year journey shaped by progress, with the focus firmly set on what comes next.

With Fuorisalone.it just behind us, we’re pleased to look back at 'Water Perspectives', a series of four evenings hosted at our Myrtha Milano showroom, as part of our participation in Fuorisalone within the Milano Durini Design District.

Across the programme, we welcomed architect Stefano Suriano, guitarist Ermanno Fabbri, architect and architecture critic Maria Vittoria Capitanucci, and our ambassador Filippo Magnini, each bringing a different perspective on the relationship between water, design, architecture and performance.

Thank you to our guests for their insights and to everyone who joined us over the four nights. Your presence made these evenings truly engaging and worthwhile ✨

A new step forward in surf lagoon development 🏄🏼

ADRENA represents Myrtha Pools’ second surf lagoon, developed with Endless Surf and Red Sea Global. Completed in the second half of last year, the lagoon features 36 caissons generating consistent, high-performance waves. Treated seawater, managed through a closed-loop system, enhances the realism of ocean surfing while maintaining full control of conditions. We provided the structure and waterproofing system based on Myrtha Skin technology.
