In un pomeriggio di aprile del 2012, in un salotto di una casa napoletana, tra un caffè ed un biscotto al sesamo, tre amici si ritrovano a commentare un piccolo libriccino durante una pausa da un progetto a cui stavano lavorando. Quel salotto era dell'architetto Fabrizio Carola, autore del libriccino, e gli amici erano gli architetti Luigi di Pietro e Stefania Vestuto. Si dialogava sulle connessi

oni esistenti fra l'utopia del racconto ed il tipo di costruzioni attorno a cui si ritrovavano. Nasce Studio2111

Il nome deriva dal titolo del racconto, in cui l'architetto Carola immaginava un futuro in cui la società fosse fondata sul rispetto e sulla collaborazione fra le persone. Lo stesso concetto di collaborazione e di condivisione connette indissolubilmente le cupole ad un diverso modo di vivere, verso un nuovo modello sociale ed abitativo, attento all'intimo rapporto tra uomo ed ambiente circostante. Strutture a superfici curve (archi, volte e cupole) caratterizzano dunque i progetti di Studio2111
Attualmente lo studio è composto dai due architetti che, con diverse esperienze progettuali e costruttive, sia in Italia che all'estero, padroneggiano la tecnica costruttiva e compositiva che caratterizza le opere di Fabrizio Carola

Time passes as the Women's House of Imloul continues to blossom.
An update from the construction site: this past month and a half has again seen the Building Site Team involved in the interior finishing of the Communal Room and the restoration of the roof plastering.

As you know, the recent earthquake occured in Morocco made a lot of victimes and also a lot of damnages to the houses above all in the rural villages of the Atlas mountains.

One of this village is Anguelz (in the Teluet region) that suffered a lot of damage and about two thirds of its inhabitants lost their homes.

Perma Atlas , one of the partner that support the women's house for Imloul (village that at now doesn't have damnages) and which is already present in the region as its president Latifa is originally from there, is raising funds for a new start.

2111 è lo studio di architettura di Fabrizio Caròla. Laureatosi presso la scuola Nazionale Superiore d’Architettura di Bruxelles “La Cambre”, nel 1972 comincia la sua formazione di architetto - costruttore. La sua esperienza africana lo porta a relazionarsi con il costruito dando grande attenzione ai materiali, all’economia e all’ambiente. Con la rielaborazione del compasso nubiano si affaccia a nuove frontiere, un’architettura nuova senza i limiti dell’ortogonalità gli apre il sipario di nuove conoscenze bioclimatiche e lo introduce alle forme zoomorfe. Attualmente lo studio è composto da architetti che, con diverse esperienze di progettazione e realizzazione, sia in Italia che all'estero, hanno acquisito padronanza della tecnica costruttiva e compositiva che caratterizza le opere di Fabrizio Carola.
