She was one of the very first cruise ship in history and, from 1907, to 1914, encountered an enormous success with her "pleasure jaunts" ( in those days, the word "cruise" was unknown in its present meaning). During the Winter, she brought her 163 exclusive guests to Dalmatia, Greece, Turkey, Lebanon, Palestine, Alexandria of Egypt and to other beautiful Mediterranean ports, to both the East and t
he West routes.During the Summer, instead, she was based in North Europe, calling at the Northern Capitals and then to the fjords, until reaching the North Cape to admire the Midnight Sun. She was so successful that she was performing more than 60 cruises every year; in May, 1910, she hoisted the XIV International Congress of the Press, and was joined by famous reporters coming form all over the World, therefore gaining fame and glory Worldwide for her anf for Trieste, where the cruise was born.
