Drawing is the foundation of painting—a lesson I carry into every work.

To me, drawing is the key to mastering subtlety. It teaches you to understand greys, the delicate shades between light and dark. Historically, artists leaned on greys, both warm and cool, to communicate depth and emotion without needing bold color

Today, we see color everywhere, often intense and loud, but true artistry lies in subtlety—in capturing the nuances of nature’s colors.

Every time I paint, I remind myself that less can truly be more.

By limiting my palette, I’ve learned that constraints aren’t obstacles—they’re opportunities. With fewer colors, I’m pushed to discover new techniques and creative solutions I never imagined.

It’s a reminder that sometimes, the best ideas come from working within boundaries.
