good morning , its 2026, new years day, things are a foot. the wind of change is blowing. all i am doing this year is what regular customers have come to expect , if its to cold , wet , windy for you to be in your garden , then you wont see me either. funny that. on those days i am working on survival projects , in the dry and warm. as we can all see , the island is in a bit of a mess, not my fault, so stop attacking me . buy local we are told . well hope it happens , not bothered. not interested. only looking after the ones that look after me this year on all business fronts. the island as beautiful as it is . is only a pinhead on a ball of cheese. i am retreating into my armoured shell, till the battle is over, i am going back to my roots , which are in the country parishes , with the country ways , of which i am quite comfortable with , also happy in the marine environment , i dont like wet sea water, so i only go swimming when the water has receded.some of you folks will have to think about that. 🤣

contary to popular belief , kelvins garden services are not shutting down , but , it comes to a point , that as we go through life , circumstances change , and new adventures start, still under the same business name . i now carry a range of products for man caves , and woman caves, and , for the actual gardens , products that are made in my own elf factory , some of my creations will be at st peters community centre this coming sunday , 23rd november, but existing clients of mine , only have to ask to see . sorry cant travel to australia , toronto, or oxford , due to techinical faults with with space craft.

sunday 30th november i will be at st peters carboot sale in the community centre , and i will have what ever is left from the youth christmas fair the week before . all the usual products will be there , its your last chance to stock up on green and yellow duel purpose scourers , you see you can use them as a stress toy , easily fits in your hand bag , so when you feel like strangling some one in the christmas rush , just squeeze the scourer , till the issue passes , then use it in the sink in the usual way . happy christmas.

due to all the traffic issues in st peters , i have left the st peters saturday market , due to it not being suitable for my type of business.
i have gone back to plan A
that is. i now travel around the island to different venues , as my day job allows .
on sunday 23rd of november 2025 , i will be appearing at the st peters youth club christmas fair , with 2 tables laden and groaning under the weight of my new products , which include 5d diamond painting kits , meccano building kits , christmas bangles , and angels , dont want to give away to many ideas , just pop up on the sunday and see for your self oh and fishing tackle will be available .

on the garden craft side of things , i have been creating a product that is readily available at any good craft shops , except we dont have any on the island , as far as i know .(stand by to be corrected).
now the picture below is borrowed, but mine are a lot better , more detail , (stop the copycats) these are called many things , especially when being made. but i am calling my creations angels wands , they enlighten , and lift the mood of all that see them , some say they have spiritual healing qualities , but what would i know of such things . but my clients that have them , love them . and thats all that matters. they are lovingly placed in gardens , to enhance the flowers and plants , and some have been given as keepsakes for family pets that have passed on . or even markers,
disclaimer .now they are not a toy , must be clear about this , if a child hits a human with one it will hurt , it can be a weapon. in the wrong hands. it is a decoration.
i will be at the st peters community center by the parish hall on sunday 7th september 2025. if wet , hopefully will be inside , now if you want one now all my details are on my page somewhere.

i have been rather quiet this year on my page , everyone sees me in there gardens , most months , but , the forcasters were right very hot summers very wet winters , and being diabeticaly challenged , dont like getting wet and dont like being cooked. and to top it all , i joined the biggest club in the world , oap. except in jersey and most places that means nothing , because i am not old , yet. but i am slowing down ,
been very interesting , doing small landscaping jobs , everyone hates w**ding , that includes gardeners, so , been changing flowerbeds into low maintainence works of art. with enthusiasm , and joy . for all concerned.
i have also ventured into crafts , garden crafts , that can also go into the house or flat . man caves , are not left out . and christmas decorations all hand made , unless otherwise stated. not that there will be many folk here by christmas. next post will have pictures if i can understand how it works.

hi all , life is strange , talking with other folk of my age group, it has been noticed that we are slowing down, which , is ok to a point. but not when your involved in heavy industry. building, gardening, commercial fishing.
so, whats this got to do with anything. well, i am slowly falling apart, all the stuff of my youth , has come back to haunt me. falling off rocks , lifting cars with my bare hands, , overdoing stuff. not good. now i have to be careful on how i go about stuff.
No more hedges , no more going up ladders , no more digging out tree roots by hand , So calming down on the action stuff, and going more sedately, with the odd spurt of madness(controlled).
its been said that i actually know what i am doing in gardens . Thats a shock to me .
what will be a surprise is that i am going into decorative style gardening , hippy witchy type gardening, yes , its happened , finally lost my marbles.
my standard reply when i enter a new garden is , i can smell burning, campfire , reply is . what . well with all the greenery and no actual colour , you could hide a platoon of marines in here , and you wont know. my small group of customers are already seeing in there own gardens a change in style, , some eye catching , and some subtle . and for the brave , well who knows . out with the drab and in with the colour , watch my van , dull white , blends in , soon going to stand out. like a sore thumb. my supporters have been brilliant over the years , 1 household has been with me since day one . well thats all for now folks ,

so, here we are , still in march, still in winter, the ground used to be rock hard at this time of year in last century, even in places like iron. so what has changed in this century, well , soggy, mud , gravy, all descriptions i have heard over the last 4 months , and that is about the state of the ground, i have found a water table , on a sloping garden in st martins 6 inchs down . no wonder the saplings did nothing , (no water wings).another interesting fact , roses, the books of the 1960s ,had the common belief that roses could be cut back from november till march the latest, that was because of the harsh winters. i have thrown that book , on the fire. some roses in certain gardens have not stopped blooming yet, so i have figured out that i must sneak up on them when they are not expecting me and cut them back . but i leave the stem with the blooms on till they are gone , then i cut that back. but , on occasions i have been cutting roses back in , june, july , and august. because they were getting to tall. in fact i have one in st clements that i treat as a w**d, the more i cut it the more it grows , i think i am winning at the moment. thats all folks . another boring tale from the garden next week.

good morning all, today kelvins garden services is having a rest , 2 reasons , i am getting over a very bad cold , and its to cold to do anything outside. so i have taken a table at the good companions site in st clements , i have 12 green and yellow scourers for £1.50 per pack , and supermarkets do 4 for £2.40p, now the supermarkets is probaly using them as a loss leader , my maths is not to good. wax melts , oil burner , essential oils , not going to bore everyone with to many details, all products brand new , except for my new range of second hand tissues.

good morning all , we are now back to normal weather conditions , rain , sun, rain/wind, everything is getting soggy again, so , i will be around to my client base as the weather permits , no change there then. possibility , that i will go over to a bit of creative gardening , (small scale). still working on a few ideas, for outside creations , possible i might show some of my household product range , on this page , with free delivery on island only. now it would be nice to have feedback on that . thank you all for reading .

hello, you have not heard from me in quite a while , been in a bit of a turmoil, the wet weather has played havoc on the gardening scene , just been active on odd days since january , and not much at all in febuary.but , i have reached retirement age , how , i dont know. so going forward , i will be starting to catch up, in between the rain showers, march seems like a good time to start, i am not taking on any new gardening work , i will let the youngsters , take over , just want to add , thank you to all my supporters over the last 8 years, and the original clients that i have had from the first week of business, and everyone else who has helped on the journey , its been a blast.
