There’s a very easy way of announcing this, so we’ll just say it: it’s reopening at 5pm.

In fact we’re so sure you’ll like it that we’ll say it again: it’s reopening at 5pm.

We obviously know closing a major road into Town is about as far from convenient as it’s possible to get – and you’ll likely have spent longer getting to and from work in recent days because of the closure – but closing it when we did was the right call to make.

The picture of the pesky pipe that started this hassle might not look like much, but when there’s water on the road and the surface has started to sink, it means there’s a lot going on beneath. And so we really needed to act swiftly to prevent serious road damage, which would have caused a closure lasting weeks, not days.

Please tell people you know who usually use this road that from 5pm they can use it once again.

Actually tell everyone, because it will reopen at 5pm and everyone can use it.
