Chill Chair Kichijoji is a men’s barbershop located on Nakamichi Street, just a short walk from Kichijoji Station in Tokyo. The owner operates the shop under the concept of “adult street hairstyles.” For the Kichijoji location, the initial design discussions centered on a spatial image inspired by street basketball and skateboarding. The external three-dimensional deck was planned as street furniture that blends into the surrounding streetscape. While guiding the eye and considering the visual impact on the front road, it also forms an integral element of the shop’s facade.

東京・吉祥寺駅から程近い中道通りに面する、男性専門の理容室 チルチェア 吉祥寺店。オーナーは「大人のストリートヘアスタイル」というコンセプトで店舗展開しており、吉祥寺店では設計当初から、ストリートバスケットやスケートボードに関する空間イメージが共有された。外部の立体的なデッキは、視線を誘導することや前面道路への圧迫感を考慮しながら、周囲の街並みに溶け込むストリートファニチャーとして計画され、店のファサードを構成する要素となっている。

The shop offers ten to fifteen varieties of beans,mainly light roasts with distinctive processing methods, alongside coffee-based creative drinks and a small selection of desserts.

True to the “LAB” in its name, the interior balances experimental character with a sense of calm.

The kitchen area is finished entirely in white, emphasizing functionality and cleanliness, while the seating area uses rough-textured wood-wool cement boards to create a warm and comfortable atmosphere.

店では、10〜15種類の特殊プロセスの豆を扱い、
コーヒーとそれを用いた創作ドリンク、数種類のデザートを提供している。

内装は、店名にある「LAB（実験室）」の名のとおり、実験的な要素と落ち着きを併せもつ空間を意図した。

厨房側は白で統一し、機能性を重視した清潔な印象に。客席側は木毛セメント板の荒い質感を活かし、温かみのある居心地をつくっている。
