時間の中で連なり続けている。
かつての沖縄の住まいは、
風の道、深い庇、庭木の影、雨水の循環といった
自然の知恵を静かに受けとめ、生活を守ってきた。
沖縄のゲニウス・ロキとは
生活を守るために培われてきた知恵を、
現代の空間として再構成すること。
それは、覆われつつあるものの意味を問い直し、
強い体系として立ち上げる試みである。
地霊を点と点で結び、
アイデンティティを見つめ直すこと。
その思考の中に、建築は立ち上がる。
開発と建設が加速する沖縄において、
見慣れた風景は急速に更新されている。
人の住まいの本質は、
自然の一部としての生活にある。
歴史を引き継ぎ、
自然を受けとめ、
維持し、回復していく。
Accumulation of Thought.
Thought is not episodic,
but continuous across time.
Traditional Okinawan houses once embraced
natural wisdom—paths of wind, deep eaves,
the shade of trees, and the circulation of rainwater—
quietly sustaining everyday life.
What is the Genius Loci of Okinawa?
It is to reconstruct, in contemporary spatial terms,
the wisdom cultivated to sustain life.
It is an attempt to question what is being lost,
and to reestablish it as a coherent system.
By connecting the spirit of the land point by point,
and reexamining identity,
architecture takes form within this line of thought.
In Okinawa, where development and construction are accelerating,
familiar landscapes are rapidly being transformed.
The essence of dwelling lies in
living as part of nature.
To inherit history,
to receive nature,
and to sustain and restore it.
