テラスハウスはどんどん進んでいます。建具が入っていい感じ。監督が美しい施工図を鉛筆で描いていらっしゃいます。ありがたいなぁ、、、

Terrace house is making a progress. With windows in, it looks even better. I am fortunate to have a super who can draw beautifully with pencil.

革の手摺　leather handrail

こういう作業はどの工務店もやってくれないからRCD施工。経年変化でベトベトになってしまったり、剥がれてしまった塗装を革紐で巻きました。革の匂い、統一されていない革の質感が気に入っています。地味な作業で残り2/3あるのが辛い、、、

No contractor would do such tedious work. The handrail paint had become sticky and peeled with age, so I wrapped it with leather cord. Love the leather smell and the uneven texture.

寝室のあかり　bedroom lighting

ランタンのように光がもれるようにしました。日中からは想像ができない夜の姿です。

The light spills out like a lantern. A nighttime look you’d never imagine from the daytime.

長いクローゼット　long closet

同じ面積のウォークインクローゼットよりも確実に収納量がありそうなクローゼット。色んなものを入れてもルーバー壁が隠してくれる。
More storage than a same‑size walk‑in, with a louvered wall that hides everything.

引き渡し　handing over

「多世代の家」は先週引き渡しでした。雪の影響で外構工事残しでの引き渡しとなったので、まだ最終系ではないのですが、長い年月をかけた設計と施工がここまで辿り着けたことに感動しかありません。お施主様も嬉しそうで、本当に良かった。フライトを遅くして太陽が沈んだ後の家の雰囲気も確認して長い1日が終わりました。毎回同じ事を言っていますが、お施主には私を建築家として選んでくださったことに感謝の気持ちでいっぱいです。

The “Generation House” was handed over last week with the exterior works still unfinished. After years of design and construction, seeing it reach this point was deeply moving. The clients looked so happy and that made my day.
I delayed my flight to see the house after sunset, and that wrapped up my long day.
I say this every time, but I’m deeply grateful that they chose me as their architect.
