Because of your generosity, we were able to give every student something special to celebrate Christmas Eve. The excitement and joy on their faces as they looked forward to this moment meant everything to us. Our school has long cherished the tradition of sharing Christmas gift boxes with our students and surrounding community—a gesture that has brought smiles, comfort, and connection year after year. As the holiday season approaches, we hope to make this year’s giving our most impactful yet.

We are aiming to bless 200 students with a Christmas gift box valued at $10 each, and we cannot do it without the kindness of friends and supporters like you. Your generosity will help us spread warmth and joy to children and families who truly appreciate it.

Graduation Day Reflection

It was a beautiful day, one we had set aside for our kindergarten group and Grade 6 learners to graduate. The day went on wonderfully. The graduates dressed in their gowns, then went out to march and proudly showcase their achievements along the road, moving in perfect uniformity. They later returned to the school and gathered under the tent, ready for the celebration to begin.

We enjoyed amazing presentations from the students, a heartfelt sermon from the pastor, and inspiring speeches from teachers, parents, our guest, and the School Director. Afterwards, we presented certificates, shared a cake, and finally had a meal together as the HIP School family. Oh—and we must not forget that all the graduates enjoyed a delicious ice cream treat!

It’s a beautiful morning here at school, and students are arriving one by one, full of energy and excitement for the day ahead. As I made my usual rounds through the classrooms to ensure everyone was settled and engaged in their morning routine—reading the learning charts on the walls—I stepped into the verandah and noticed a young boy standing quietly.

What caught my eye were his shoes.

They were mismatched, and one of them was badly torn. You could clearly see his socks peeking through the worn-out sole. It was a small detail, but it spoke volumes. It reminded me that while many of our children come to school ready to learn, some are quietly struggling with the most basic needs.

No child should have to walk into school feeling embarrassed or different because of something as simple as shoes.

So today, I’m reaching out with a humble request: Let’s come together and buy him a new pair. Any amount you can give—no matter how small—will help change how he walks through his day, and how he sees himself.
