First it was a hobby. Collecting bits and bobs of stuff leftover from garages, fundis, walking around here and there in great ADHD fashion. Then we started the Tye Yien tree nursery and slowly started listing down the uses for reclaimed wood with trees being such an important part of our life cycle with a whole arboretum.

Then the idea behind the masks was born after staring too long at a log and noticing such intricate patterns and shapes and designs - each unique in its own way and also taking into account how important a role masks play in different cultures.

We wanted to have an impact on Afro-modern home decor while being as sustainable and fun as we always are. So from upcycled wood, artistry, dedication and post retirement zeal we ended up with these beautiful one of a kind African upcycled masks.
