BREAKING NEWS: Hillary Kiplagat Kibiwott has set a new global milestone after planting 23,326 trees in just 24 hours at Kessup Forest Station within the Kaptagat Forest Complex, located in Elgeyo Marakwet County, Kenya.
Starting the challenge at 11 a.m. yesterday and finishing at the same time today, Kiplagat surpassed the previous Guinness World Records mark of 23,060 trees set in 2021 by Antoine Moses from Canada (Alberta province), beating it by 266 trees. Although he had aimed for 24,000 trees, the effort still secured a new world record.
Beyond the achievement, this milestone is a strong contribution to climate change action and aligns with the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals, especially SDG 13 (Climate Action) and SDG 15 (Life on Land).
