Dear Entrepreneurs, Business Owners and SMEs Owners, Operating in Nairobi, Lagos, Johannesburg, Kampala and Mombasa is regarded as being part of the 1000 ways to die.
Having control over your business is essential for personal growth, well-being, and fulfillment. By asserting control, you gain the freedom to navigate business challenges, learn from experiences, and create a business that aligns with your vision.
Autonomy empowers you to shape your destiny, pursue meaningful goals, and take responsibility for your actions. Here are my thoughts from my own personal experiences on how to avoid losing control over your business:
1. Be concise and assertive when communicating your decisions to others. Avoid over-explaining yourself, as it can lead to unnecessary stress and self-doubt.
2. Set clear boundaries in your relationships with others. Communicate your limits and expectations to others, and be assertive about what you’re comfortable with. This helps prevent others from encroaching on your emotional or physical space.
3. Don’t tie your self-worth to others’ opinions. Instead, focus on your intrinsic value, skills, and accomplishments. When you detach your self-worth from others’ opinions, you become less vulnerable to their influence.
4. Take charge when faced with problems. Identify solutions, take action, and assert yourself. Whether it’s at work, in personal relationships, or during difficult situations, step up and lead. Taking charge empowers you and reduces the likelihood of others dictating your path.
5. Be selective in your inner circle. Surround yourself with people who uplift and support you. Not everyone deserves VIP access to your life. Choose your inner circle wisely and prioritize those who add value to your life.
