ក្នុងកំឡុងពេល ពិធីចូលឆ្នាំចិននេះប្រារព្ធឡើងក្នុងគោលបំណងនឹករលឹក និង ការគោរពដឹងគុណ ការជួបជុំក្នុងក្រុមគ្រួសារក៏ដូចជាការស្វាគមន៍នូវសំណាងល្អសម្រាប់ឆ្នាំថ្មីផងដែរ។ ទោះបីប្រទេសកម្ពុជាយើងមានវប្បធម៌ផ្ទាល់ខ្លួនក៏ដោយ ពិធីបុណ្យចូលចិនឆ្នាំ ក៏ជាផ្នែកមួយនៃវប្បធម៍ចម្រុះដែលតែងប្រារព្ធដោយគ្រួសារ ខ្មែរ-ចិនជារៀងរាល់ឆ្នាំផងដែរ។
