STONE +
The stone quarried in the Al-Khor area, in the middle of Qatar, it is very unique, but due to its impurities and a certain structural fragility, it is very difficult to use.
With the Stone + project we developed different strategies to strengthen the material and turn its imperfections into valuable design features. The result is a collection of four tables where the original stone is paired with different materials providing reinforcement and formal variety: Stone + Metal, Stone + Stone, Stone + Resin, Stone + Straps

The project is generously supported by the Institute of Creative Research at VCUarts Qatar and developed by:
Marco Bruno, Simone Carena, Levi Hammett, Mohammad Suleiman, Hiathem El-Hammali + Erika Pisu (Akire)

ARTMOBILES
The panel will be a conversation between MOTOElastico (Simone Carena and Marco Bruno) and the director of the Qatar Auto Museum Dr. Alkindi Al Jawabra on the topic of Art and Mobility. In a society that requires and cherishes the mobility of people, jobs and dwellings, art remains a very static practice. Our goal is to challenge this notion through the presentation of meaningful examples and some of our recent art and mobility projects. A conversation on the future of artmobile will follow.

MOBUMENTS
Two Mobuments are currently on display at the Doha Firestation as part of the “A House Overlooking the World Exhibition”. We are extremely thankful for all the support we received by the wonderful people at the

If the public doesn’t go to the Monument, the Mobument will drive to the public.
And it will park in unexpected places to meet its audience.
On the top of a popular sand dune or across the stalls of a deserted parking lot.
It will stay there for a limited amount of time.
So the next time you visit, it will be gone.
Questioning the traditional idea that art pieces are static objects that belong to specific locations.
Mobuments are out there to celebrate the nomadism of our contemporary society.
Movable, colorful, deployable, adaptable and monumental art machines.

MEET KIMBOB
The space design for the 2023 Gwangju Design Biennale was inspired by Korean street food.
The giant paper Kimbob stood tall at the entrance of Gallery 1 inviting the visitors to go through its delicious flavors. It also offered a memorable telescopic photo opportunity that only a few people missed!

Developed under the space curation of , the piece is designed by and and made with craft and love using recyclable cardboard by

TTOKKOCHI
The space design for the 2023 Gwangju Design Biennale was inspired by Korean street food.

TECH FOREST
The Tech Forest is an installation designed to accommodate the different sections of the Technology Gallery during the 2023 Gwangju Design Biennale. Inspired by the curtains of Korean Motels, it provides privacy and intimacy to seven exhibitors. Our Love for Motel Curtains started in 2007, when we included a photo by in our Spacetracing exhibition.

FROM GWANGJANG TO G**O MARKET
G**o District invited MOTOElastico to design a small gathering space within the lively G**o Market. The project is part of a larger initiative aiming to celebrate spaces and communities that don’t go often under the limelight.
We designed a small library where people can spend time with the community while reading about the rich history of the place. And they can leave their mark on the gigantic paper record.
Come and leave yours. GuRock & Roll will remain open until November 30, 2024.

CONICONI
(previous post was cancelled, please like it one more time)
Three CONICONI Chairs were specifically produced for the 2024 conference and used for all the panel discussion. They were very successful and people enjoyed sitting on them, feeling protected and under construction at the same time.
Thanks to for inviting us and for promoting our work during the event. And for sporting the perfect matching outfit!

The first edition of the CONICONI chair was presented at Ggull, an art space curated by in Seoul in 2010. It seems yesterday when we cut the first prototype in our Jongno office using a drill and a hole saw.
