Heriz Serapi

The story of the Heriz serapi design is truly a remarkable one to tell.
The term "Heriz" refers to the northwestern city of Heriz, near the city of Tabriz, which is a major rug-weaving center in Iran.
The term "serapi" however is considered to be a hot topic, since Heriz has no city by the name serapi residing near it,
moreover there exist no artist/weaver by the surname of "Serapi" that would link the design to their name.
Therefor through time, some dealers used to blindly relate "heriz serapi" to a nearby city although none exists.
Other experts and dealers linked the name to the nearby city of Serab, but we do not believe that this is accurate since the city of Serab produces completely different designs.
So where did the term "serapi" come from?
While looking deep into American history, our extensive research concludes that the term was coined by US traders in the mid 19th century who referred to
the Navajo Serape cloaks that held a lot of similarities to Heriz carpets in terms of design.
In conclusion, the term "serapi" has nothing to do with the city of Serab or any city in Iran for that matter, it was actually just referring to
native American Indians who shared a similar sense of art to Heriz.

Moving on to this magnificent rug, this masterpiece features a beautiful mix of colors and is in excellent condition although being over 150 years old.
One of the most unique aspects of this carpet is the border, which was woven with camel wool - a rare material to see on Heriz carpets.
This is because Heriz is located in the mountainous regions of Iran, where camel wool is considered an uncommon material to obtain.
This particular carpet was weaved when an American dealer placed a special order that came through Istanbul to Tabriz.
One can only imagine the feelings of the dealer and the owner upon seeing such a masterpiece finally completed especially when the weaving process took around three years to complete.

Four Seasons
A Majestic Kashani Treasure

This majestic Kashan carpet was crafted by the master weaver, Ahmad Archang, around 1930, and is a rare find with a unique and highly coveted design - the Lake of Flowers four seasons.
Measuring an impressive 540 x 370, the carpet boasts a very nice knot of 500,000 knots per square meter, and is crafted from very fine wool.
The weaver's intention to put two borders inside the carpet has given it a regal and royal look that is one-of-a-kind.

Master Ahmad Archang is a renowned Iranian master weaver from the city of Kashan, celebrated for his contribution to the region's rich textile traditions.
He has spent decades honing his craft and developing a unique style, inspired by the traditional designs and motifs of Persian carpets and textiles.
His work is characterized by intricate patterns, bold colors, and an unparalleled level of artistry.

This piece of history is a collectible, museum-quality work of art that is in perfect condition.
Such a carpet is nearly impossible to find, and it's truly a testament to Master Ahmad Archang's skill and craftsmanship.

Although he is a Kashani by birth, Master Ahmad Archang is best known for his work that was woven in Isfahan. He designed much of the work for the masters in Isfahan, and this particular carpet showcases his signature Four Season design. It's a piece of history that's highly sought after by collectors and connoisseurs around the world.

Sayyed Ahmad Archang created this design in the early 1930s when he was around 30 years old, and it remains a rare and treasured work of art.
This carpet is another education we give to the world, and another investigation into the treasures of Iranian craftsmanship.

A Historical Isfahan Piece

A collaboration between three masters from three different cities in Iran.
An Isfahan master piece designed by a Kashani, weaved by an Isfahani, and dyed by a Naini.

The rug was designed by master Hussein Hosseini, a well-known Persian carpet designer and artist from the city of Kashan.
Recognized as one of the leading designers of his generation, master Hosseini characterized his work with intricate design and the use of rich, vibrant colors.
His work is highly sought after by collectors and enthusiasts.

The weave was completed by master Mohammad Nikokar, a well-respected Isfahani carpet maker and weaver in his community.
He was known for his skill and artistic vision, and his efforts contributed in sustaining the tradition of carpet weaving in Isfahan for many centuries as did the efforts of many other talented artisans.

The carpet was dyed by master Lotfollah Naini, a Persian carpet designer and weaver who was active in the city of Nain.
Master Lotfallah was known for his contributions to the development of the distinctive Nain carpet style.
This style is characterized by its fine knotting, intricate designs, and use of high-quality materials.

Made in the early 1950's, this super rare piece of Isfahan tells a unique woven story that only it can recite.
Embodying the majesty of Kashan, the elegance of Isfahan and the vibrance of Nain, this antique master piece is truly a one of a kind that makes it a piece for collection.

A super fine piece of art weaved by master Hekmat Yarad
The medallion symbolises a traditional Iranian dome.

The centered Iranian dome surrounded with the vibrant light blue outline gives the carpet an almost 3D feel enhancing its markup and perspective.
Furthermore, the usage of pure silk brushes up the image of the carpet making look as soft as it feels.

With around 1 million knots per square meter and with its elegant choice of colors, this Qom master piece brings life to any room it inhabits.

A beauty with a great mix of colors and over 1.2 million knots per square meter and one of the earliest to be weaved by the masters of the Seirafian family.
In fact the rug is considered to be one of the first few from Seirafian estimated to be weaved between 1948 and 1955.
Although the carpet holds great antiquated value, it's also a piece of art nonetheless.
Following a classic medallion design surrounded by an indigo blue field placed between intricate borders that captures the beauty of the rug.
What's more is the super fine weave utilizing a unique wool softer than silk making it a true antique masterpiece highlighting the brilliance and innovation of the masters of Seirafian.
